My Sheltie is two years old and was spayed at six months old. She's never humped anyone or anything and just recently (the past week or so), she's been humping my friends when they come over or sometimes just the air. When I say her name in a menacing tone, she looks up at me and stops. WHAT is going on?

Before anyone states the obvious "reaching sexual maturity" answer. One of our dogs used to try and sh4g everything when he was a 3 month old pup, surely that isn't right.

Want a small dog, I think the Yorkies are so cute but would it be a good pet for my 7yr. old boy? We live in an apartment, work 8 hrs. a day but I can come home at lunch, are they barkers? Would it be ok alone at times?

i wrote to the president about this ideal of course he most likely wont read it. its just i think this senseless killing needs to stop. and maybe give vets a tax break for every animal they spade or neuter for free ( for low income familys only) what are your ideals?

what are the risks? I mean, is there anything that could happen to him while he's under anasthesia or after? I heard a sad neutering-story where the dog died. it scared me because i don't want that to happen to my dog.......

My friend has a 2 year old and lives in an apartment. Although she wants a lab, her car and apartment are too small for a big dog. She did end up adopting a Beagle but not too sure about keeping him either. She wants a dog that is good with her son and can roam free in her house when she's not there and not destroy anything, a dog her son can leash around, and a dog that don't require much walking. She's thinking a smaller dog would be best. She has a poodle now she's getting rid of (bites her son), and she don't want a toy breed. Does anyone know of a miniature dog that might be suitable for her situation? Do you think a Jack Russell or Daschund would be good for indoor living and children?

What is the story? When did they find you? Did they adopt everyone in your family?

Share your tale of when you were adopted by your pet.

*Though this is put in the dog section, all adopted humans may share their tale*
