I don't think anyone can really anwser that question because none of us are dogs. And a dog can't anwser your question so I guess we will never know. Isn't like a vet can stick a camera in a dogs eye in look out of the eye like a dog so I don't see how they have proof its true.

NO. Dogs are said to have dichromatic vision -- they can see only part of the range of colors in the visual spectrum of light wavelengths. Humans have trichomatic vision, meaning that they can see the whole spectrum. Dogs probably lack the ability to see the range of colors from green to red. This means that they see in shades of yellow and blue primarily, if the theory is correct. Since it is impossible to ask them, it is not possible to say that they see these colors in the same hues that a human would. Whether or not the ability to see some color is important to dogs or not is hard to say.
Also consider the perspective that dogs see the world from. A dog with its eyes about 12 inches off the ground certainly sees the world a different way than a human with eyes about 48 inches off the ground like many 5th graders.
As humans we tend to think of dog's visual capabilities as inferior to ours. It is different but it may suit their needs better than possessing accurate color vision would

Yes. Because their retners are different to humans which makes their eyeballs unable to accept light. Have you noticed how their eyes seem to glow in the dark? That possibly has something to do with it. Did you know that dogs can't see what is on the TV? They can hear sounds but not see the pictures!

Dogs can see in color but barely any color reaches their site because of the arrangement and amount of rods in their eyes. This answer may or may not be true due to the fact that I myself am not a dog!

I don't believe so, as I had trained one of my dogs to retrieve a multitude of different colored frisbees. I would throw out about eight diff colors and tell her a particular color to bring back to me and she never got it wrong.

Nope, not true. It has been found (because of the cones in the eyes) they do see color, just not the spectrum we see. They see color more like what we see at dusk or dawn.

This is not true, because my dog can pick up his light green colored ball from other many colored balls.
