We were having a Yard sale, when an old German shepherd dog came into our yard.. he was limping, and scrawny.. I put out a bowl of food for him, and fresh water..he came back the next day, and i fed him again..we close up and left for 3 days..when we got home, there he was, still on our porch..I contacted local shelters, and put an ad in the paper, and no one claimed him.. i took him to the vet, who began him on antibiotics and put in drainage tubes for his wounds...the vet didn't even charge for it! the vet told us he was a young dog, but only appeared old, because of his condition..
Well, i began taking him in the car with me when i left home, because he like car rides...We had only had him a week, when i went to a convenience store, late at night.. A man grabbed my car door and tried to pull it open.. the dog leaped form the back seat and grabbed the man by the arm, and the guy took off yelling.. There was a girl found murdered behind that store...
I was always sure that 'Randy' was sent as my guardian angel..
Randy lived with us for several more years, and was wonderful with my small children, and a great, intelligent companion.

We were adopted by our cat, 6 yrs ago. My old cat died just a few weeks before, and I swore no more heart ache. It was early Fall and one day I went out to the compost, and there, behind it was this skinny, scab covered little white cat that had a spot of grey over each eye and a totally grey tail. I tryed to get close to her but she just wasn't sure, my hubby thought we should shew her away, but I just couldn't, she was so cute. I made up a bed in our shed and put food out for her, and then she started comming in the house. I put a fea collar on her and started brushing her. I noticed she was spayed, but could not find a #tatoo, We decided to call her Banditt.
One afternoon, near dinner time she came bounding in,I picked her up for a proper Hello and then I noticed there was a message written on her collar, it said " My name is Bandit, I live at ----. please call this #------. I was in shock!! So I picked up the phone and called. This is her story: Banditt, had a big brother, and he was very dominant ,he beat her up every time she came near there house, her breed (part Himylayan) are very clingon to one person and it was the man's, he was her person, he told me she had a rough kitten hood, she was stepped on and her back was broken, she healed, and finally decided to leave home. The man said to me, I was takeing such good care of her I could keep her if I choose. Well I still have her, she's totaly in love with my Hubby and now has a brother (a shitzu named Buggz) she put him in line the first day, but now she gives him kisses and plays with him all day!!! She's the love of our life!!!

so much for him adopting me....i had to chase after him for a very long time and very long way. he is a small size dog...so...ppl pick on easy targets i guess...he was so afraid to anyone coming near him when he was running on the streets. finally i got him, carried him to my boyfriend's house and he lived there ever since. he loves everyone in the family...except my boyfriend's older brother doesn't like dogs...and he just hit my dog this morning because the dog barked. i was at the front door of the house...i rang the door bell...no body came to answer the door except my dog, he was barking to tell someone to come open the door for me and then he got hit by a shoe...i cried for half an hour for that. asian ppl just doesn't seem to care much about animals....i hate that!!

One rainy October night about 3 years ago my husband was just heading into a meeting when one of the people going in with him pointed out a kitten, appx 5 months old, that was running around the parking lot. My husband picked it up at petted it, he's a cat lover from way back, he then put it under the fender of the front of his truck to get it out of the rain and told her "you stay there now".
An hour and a half later he came out of the meeting and low and behold the little kitten was still beside his truck. Well, that was it, he couldn't leave it there, it was about 9:30 at night and still raining, so home she came with him.
She wormed her way into our hearts in about 2 mins, myself and my 2 boys, and is one of the friendliest cats we've ever had. Even our friends comment on how loving and friendly she is.
I think as soon as she spotted my husband she knew she had her "mark", and she was right.

i volunteer at my local animal shelter and fell in love with a GSD mix. however my dad didn't like him cause he "barked a lot".. instead he picked the depressed lab/border collie mix that was sitting at the shelter for over six months. i hardly even noticed him because he was so plain and quiet.
anyway it's been well over a year and he is the best dog we could ask for! he's skiddish, but we don't mind. he's never going back to the shelter again! (well actually, he did go back up to meet a potential brother, but he actually got adopted by a friend of mine)
my dogs name is chip and he is pretty much the family dog.

When I was about three, a cat decided to move into our house. I was only 3. I didnt know where he came from, or how old he was. I called him Zacuas (pronounced 'Zack-yoo-us') He liked both me and my Mum and so he stayed - till one day I didnt see him anymore. Mum waited a few years to tell me that he really ended up under the street sweeper, but I like to think he disappeared as mysteriously as he arrived.

I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED BY ABOUT 20 RESCUED FERRETS I HAVE TAKEN IN. I AM EXPECTED BY THEM TO FEED AND WATER THEM, HOLD THEM, GIVE THEM TREATS, AND HUGGG AND KISSS THEM. YES--I WAS ADOPTED BY THEM--I AM THEIR ONLY CHANCE FOR WARMTH, LOVE , AND CARE. I AM HAPPILY ADOPTED BY THEM.
