My five to six month old kitten walked away from me and I saw an area of missing fur on her hind leg. She has a line (about three to four inches in length and a quarter of an inch wide) on each hind leg of just skin. It doesn't seem to bother her too much because she doesn't move her leg when I touch it. The skin does not look swollen or infected, but it is very rough.

Since I've noticed this, I have also been noticing that she licks a lot. I know some cats really want to be clean, but she is also nibbling as if she itches all over. I have checked for fleas and haven't found any. We have another cat and two dogs who seem okay.

I began feeding her soft food once every couple of days. However, I started that after I noticed the missing fur. Other than that, nothing has changed. I have heard that cats can pull out their fur if they are overly stressed, but I don't think she has anything to be stressed about. . . like I said, I haven't changed anything!

Any ideas?

I am ill with a bad back. Last night I was awake from 3am onwards and almost crying through lkack of sleep and the pain and my 3 month old kitten came and cuddled up to my head, nuzzled my face and even put her cheek against mine as if drying tears, then as I fell asleep again she put her paw in my hand. All day today she has been very calm and cuddly when she is usualy hyper and playful and mischievious, she walks over to me on the bed looking all concerned and nuzzling me. I've heard that cats understand when their owners are ill but is this true or is my cat just weird?

This is an age old question about the cat's meow.. but she has been meowing for over 3 years now, she only stops when she is sleeping or eating, she is only one cat in the house and is spayed, but she has done this since she has been born like started at 3weeks old and continues now for years. The vet says she is just vocal, but I think she is crazy, she has meowed so much she losing her voice sometimes and she also can bark like a dog now, she shares a house with 3 dogs... she can almost talk. She is so sweet and never does anything viciouse or malisous. Does anyone know anything about this?

he was left behind with no food no nothing when he was a kitten, I started leaving food & water out on my porch for him and the next thing you know I named him Popeye because of his strength, He had been attacked by a pit bull dog, the dog puntured or bit his right eye, anyway, he stayed but never wanted to come in. his eye swolled up and was all Gray it stayed like that for about 2 yrs, he never acted like it bothered him at all, he is a really loving cat as long as you don't try to pick him up, he does not like to be held anyway. now it seams that his eye has busted right in the center, it had a little bubble on it and that was scratched or something and it seeps a little puss but no blood, I tried to wipe it off a gently as I could with a warm soft cloth. what else can I do for him, he acts like it hurts a little now, he is now 3 yrs. It Breaks my Heart to see him like that, he is so very loving. Deb

I'm wondering what people think of cat foods on the market at the moment. I'm worried that my cats food isn't doing her much good. Her breath stinks! She's had a dental check up and all is well. She doesn't eat biscuit as she doesn't seem to like it, no matter what ones I try her on. Currently she's eating Purina Pearl pouches or Felix As Good As It Looks pouches, 1-2 a day. Is there anything out there that might be better for her?

I am studying Thai so we can talk properly, but I'm afraid she will misinterpret my motives. (She's a tortoiseshell)

Maybe some of you who own both a Siamese and another kind of cat can enlighten me. Do they communicate OK?

Is it common for cats to stop eating and drinking and become lathargic when you bring a new cat in house? I am a little concerned.

My cat just started vomitting today. It's very little and only watery but she vomits at least twice an hour. She is still walking around like normal and wants food (I took away her dry cat food today, thinking maybe its making her ill). No real listlessness or anything. She appears clear-eyed and still has her appetitite.

I'm calling the vet tomorrow. Anyone know what it can be?
