This may sound odd, but since she is vocal, trying talking back to her like an adult. When she starts meowing at you in the kitchen, you can go like, " What do you want, are you hungry?" Things like that. She may just want attention considering she's the only cat you have and she has 3 other dogs to compete with.

Since she is spayed; she must just be vocal. My cat meows a lot too; just not all the time. If I talk, walk up to her, or scold her she will meow back. She also meows at the birds and squirrels outside too. My cat sleeps with me and when I wake up before she wants to get up she "yells" at me. If she is ready to get up then she will tell me good morning for five or more minutes.
I am not sure why yours meows non-stop maybe she is competing with the dogs for attention. If your dogs bark a lot she might be mimicking them since she probably figures that is what she is supposed to do. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Especially if the vet said that it is okay. If you are still worried you could always take her to a different vet for a second opinion.

LOL! I think my cat is related to your cat! My cat is probably about 7, and she has been meowing the entire time! Sometimes she sits and stares at a blank wall, then meows at it, and bats at it. We also wonder if she's crazy. Or maybe she sees spirit kitties. She seems healthy and affectionate. Just very odd. Sounds like your cat is much the same. As far as I can tell, or the vet, she's perfectly fine. So I'm betting your cat is too.

This may be the funniest thing I've read in here!
I think you've gotten good advice already and I don't have much to add.
So long as she seems happy and well adjusted in other ways, I wouldn't worry.
If you want, though, you can look into flower essences. While some question their validity, they will never do any harm. And at $15 or so per bottle, they're a small gamble. Less than you'd ever spend in Vegas.
I didn't find one for clamming up, but there's one I found that might fit your kitty.

I have a male cat that meows all the time. He just has a lot to say. I think your vet is correct. She's just vocal. Sometimes they just want to tell you something, like: "I'd like a treat" or "change my litter", it stinks and stuff like that. I carry on a conversation with my cat. He's pretty funny. It's probably hard for her to compete with the dogs for your attention. That's probably why she's resorting to barking!!!

my cat does that... she never stop! we have come to figure out what each sound means... mostly she wants attention. Theres the food meow, water meow, theres a bird in the tree meow and then the cat on tv meow. Dont forget the im happy and dont let me go meow. Its ok to have a vocal cat, be happy she shows interest in u and doesnt ignore you. Enjoy!

Some cats are just meowers. Your cat isn't crazy. It isn't surprising that she is picking up vocal cues from those around her, either. Cats are frighteningly intelligent and are more able to mimic other creatures' sounds--even human sounds--than dogs are. (My cat can say "No" and "Mama.")
Is she a Siamese? Siamese cats are notorious talkers--my mom's Siamese never, ever shuts up.

Just like your vet said, she's just vocal. Somewhere along the way you probably encouraged her to "talk" by talking back to her. I have a cat just like this. I love it!

A barking cat, huh? Well, I've never heard of it, but a barking cat would be worth a lot of money I would think!!

believe it or not, its just her natural behavior. kind of like when people are really talkative and some people are shy. the vet is right. if she doesnt seem to be sick or in pain, then its just who she is. i've had vocal cats before and they were normal too.
