My 3 month old cat has tapeworm and I just recently bought tapeworm pills online, Tradewinds. I know everyone says they do not work but I've heard different so don't tell me they will not work. Anyways, I crushed up a half a pill in tuna (it says 4 pounds and under 1/2 tablet) but she noticed it was in there..she ate maybe a bite. I finally decided to give her a half of a half by just putting it in her mouth. She swallowed it. Will this still get rid of the tapeworms? If not, when can I give her another dose?

I have adopted a stray cat who had kittens at my house. A local vet who has been practicing for 30 years told me that he could give the older cat all the vaccinations in one shot (and we did that) and no follow up booster was needed. (Other vets say return for booster in 3 weeks and again in a few more weeks.) He also said that if I wait until the kittens are 4 months old, he can also give them all of their shots in one visit. It's a lot cheaper this way, but everything I've read says you have to make 3 visits. Do I really need to give the series of 3 visits worth of shots or can I trust this veteran vets advise? I'm concerned they won't be protected, but that a lot of $ for these strays I've taken in (outside cats).

My 12 week kitten Zoey, is getting a little fat around her midsection. When I showed her to my neighbors, who have had a lot of cats, and have been through a cat pregnancy, said that she might be pregnant. She hasn't gone through going in heat yet, so do you think it might be her being pregnant or her having worms. She is going to the vet next week, but I was just wondering now.I also have a 7month old Male kitten as well.

My husband (who is retired) wanted a cat so we decided to go through a rescue group. Long story short, we were talked into adopting a particular cat who PEED on our be a week or so after the adoption. We returned her to the group & asked if we could adopt our first choice but were told no AND that we could not get our money back either. Is there anything we can do? I feel she has probably done this before. Now my husband says he doesn't even want to adopt another cat. I am sick and furious with this woman who refuses to even try and work anything out with us. PLEASE HELP!!!

I've been battling fleas for over a month now, have used Frontline twice on one cat and Advantage just last weekend. I'm afraid that we're going to poison the cats. I've used flea powder on the rugs and spray on the furniture and I still find the little buggers.

They had spent the night at the vet boarding in the same cage. Could they have picked up anything (fleas or anything else) from any of the neighboring kitties? I'm just curious whether or not I should be so cautious.
Also, there was no specific directions given by the vet on whether or not I could pick them up and cuddle them to comfort them and whether that would be painful for them....so should I just back off or what? Don't pick them up for the next few days or can I?

Is a cat's pur actually a cat's orgasm?
Think about it, I mean cat's pur in pleasure, right?
So could it possibly be an orgasm?

Only answer if you actually KNOW or have evidence leading to your answer.

Otherwise, please don't bother.
It's actually a rather serious question.

So I found a 4 week old kitten over the weekend. I just found out today she has fleas but I cant give her anything for it until she is 8 weeks. They just said to bath her in pert plus. I have 3 other grown cats and a dog. They have been mostly seperated from her. From the vets advice I am going to be starting them on frontline next week. I jsut want to know what I am in for with the flea thing. Do you think they got all over the whole house in this amount of time? Also will the pert plus really work for getting rid of the ones the kitten has? How will I know if they are in the carpets and all over the house? Thanks

Ok, I "adopted" a stray cat from my apt. complex and all she seems to do is pee on my bed. How do I make her pee in the litter box? She is over 9 months old and I've tried showing her what to do and even made a litter box just for her. She will poop in the litter box, but will not pee in it. I really need help.

I have a 4 month old kitten and a 3 year old cat. I was letting them eat as much as they wanted but the big cat is getting really fat.

I started just giving them a few scoops of food a day and now they act like they are dying of starvation (but the big cat is not getting any lighter). Sometimes they get into the trash or a few times they ate some cardboard. I don't want to starve them but I don't want the big one eat herself to death. I'm new to cat ownership so I just don't know what is right.

The little one takes as much food as he can get his mouth on, so maybe the big cat is scarfing it down just so she will have some. Maybe I should separate them for feeding times.

So, I have two 4 year old labs, and 2two 4-5 month old kittens. We've had them for a few months, but haven't let them roam the house. We were waiting for them to grow a bit so they wouldn't get trampled. Anyway, we noticed the kittens like the dog's [dry] food! My question is kind of a few questions, really.

1) Will it harm the kittens, or is dog and cat/kitten food pretty much the same in terms of ingedients?

2) Do I need to worry about any aggressiveness over this? The kittens only became a constant presence in the house since last Sunday, and I don't want the dogs to feel jealous.

3) Also, do I need to worry about them not going back to their own food after snacking on dog food?

Thanks in advance!

I have three cats, one of which I will NOT give up so that leaves me with the other two to make a decision on. The reason I have to give up one is cuz my lease is only going to allow me to have two (I didn't read it closely enough the first time, so now I'm stuck) anyway, both cats get along really well with my cat I'm keeping. The problem is that one of them is older (not old - just not a kitty) and the older one has been declawed, spayed, vaccinated all of that, the other one my friend gave to me because she couldn't keep it, but because the kitty is so young she can't be spayed or declawed or anything yet - this is probably the one I would give up, I love her but she's so little she can find a new home to be comfortable in, the problem is I don't want to offend my friend. Please give me some helpful advice on what I should do. Thanks.
