i have 2 of each and i love them all!

I like both. B/c they both can be cuddly, which I adore when animals do it. Then they can understand you like, they are human being too....THEY ARE JUST SO ADORABLE!!

We love them both because they are so different. We keep cats because we're sometimes out of the apartment for 12+ hours a day so a dog would not work out. We also love the way that cats feel so soft--there bones are so flexible that they don't jab you with an elbow or knee. And our cats always seem to become very very responsive to us and tend to follow us around like dogs do. Plus, we're in an apartment. But whenever I get the need for dog-love, I go out and find a dog that needs hugging and loving. And it breaks my heart whenever my sister has to put another dog to sleep--she adopts elderly dogs or dogs with known limited lifespans because no one else wants them, she gives them the best for the rest of their lives.

I am realizing I have a heirarchy. I have had my cats for a long time so they are at the top. I have had my lab for 6 mos. and I love her to pieces. I have had my mastiff since last Fri. and the jury is still out.
Cats are much easier, but dogs are more expressive.
