My two year old cat eyes are red around the lids and they've been runny and she keeps blinking repeatedly. I recently got a new kitten, they play alot and the older cat cleans her. Could it be anything to do with the kitten? Any advice would be great.

my kitty pebblez is my life, i love her to death, but she is a pain in the a** when it comes to a bath. its as if she is being tortured when she is even exposed to water. so then i bought here those stupid waterless shampoo sprays, and then i thought about her licking her fur and licking that stuff and how toxic it may be. so, i know cats give themselves showers, but i want her to be washed from time to time. any suggestions??

My husband just brought home a kitten that looks to be about six weeks old. She looks very healthy, with the exception of needing worming which I plan to do today. My question is with giving her flea drops. She is pure white and so I'm sure that she would have a serious flea allergy and we have a bad infestation so I want to get her doctored with the Frontline plus as soon as possible. But I'm not sure if she is old enough for it. I noticed she doesn't have many teeth so eating dry food is hard on her so I'm moistening it. But I can't remember the growth stage of a kitten because it's been years since I've had a young kitten, and all the information I've found on the web only goes to four and five weeks of age without detailed information on the development of their teeth. I know she's at least five weeks old because she is playful, eyes brightly open, ears up, and she knows what dry cat food is and eagerly tries to eat it, but I'm not sure if she is old enough for flea drops.

This morning before I left for work my cat was all of a sudden limping and holding his foot up. I felt the paw and leg but I am not a vet so I don't know if it is broken or just sprained. He isn't crying out when he puts weight on it.

Okay can someone tell me if this is normal procedure?
I never owned any animals before prior to my kittens and don't know really what goes on in a vet's office since I've never been to one prior to my experience with this particular vet's office.

My friend recommended this vet's office to me because they were really good with how they treat animals, so I went there. I didn't notice that the vet's name and didn't know that the vet was a male doctor. My two visits to the vet involved being examined by the vet tech (whom I thought was the doctor), and assumed my kittens were being examined by a licensed professional.
Now, I'm bringing my kitten in to the vet tomorrow because he's limping, but if the vet tech comes again should I insist to see the actual vet, or is this normal procedure that the vet's allow vet tech's to take care of the examinations?
Do I make a point that I'm paying for my pet to be examined by an actual vet?? Help?

By the way, they are nice and act very professional

November 10, I am using Frontline PLUS on my cat. I know that you put it in between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck DIRECTLY on their skin so don't tell me what to do for that.

When I used Advantage, it didn't work correctly and she still had some itching on her face and there were two or three fleas on her face.

Will Frontline PLUS kill all of the fleas on her body? Or will they just resort to the face and then there is some other way I have to clean those off?

Thanks for your answers.

I'm not a cat guy myself, but my Sister just got a new cat. She brought up the topic of "declawing" and everyone within earshot became irate. Can you share with me your personal stance (or experience) on this topic. All answers appreciated.

I have two cats, and I have heard that for health and coat reasons it is a good idea to mix in a little olive oil with their food.

Has anyone else done this, or does any know of any health concerns that might arise if I gave a little olive oil to my cats.

For a little information, the eldest is 18 months old and the youngest is 8 months old.

i have recently switch cat food brands from kitten chow to organic. i only give him wet food maybe twice a week. but during those periods he barely eats his dry food. and he is a little under weight for his age. he's not losing weight but, ... and in the morning sometimes he'll wake me by gently biting me and jumping on me because he knows when i wake up i give him fresh food. he acts crazy in the morning like he's starving! but when i put out the dry food he just sniffs eats a bite or two and goes away. sometimes when it's not wet food he'll nip at my feet as i walk through my apartment getting ready for work. what should i do? should i give in? would it be so bad if i did give him wet food everyday? sometimes i do mix the two, but by itself he doesn't like dry food.

I go in my closet and in one of my shoes were:
2 plastic jingly balls, one of his fuzzy mice, and one of those little white caps that go over the mounting hardware on the toilet.

Is my cat weird?

my new indoor only cat starts to hiss and fight with my already existing two male cats.

bunny is 3 years old
snowy is 2 years old
orange is 9 months old

orange is behaving very gangster like right now. all this while i bet bunny is the boss. now, even he seems scared with orange. it happens only recently.

same goes with snowy. i notice snowy spend less time at home now. smetimes he is out for 4 days, then come back. at first i thought he was after some female cats until last 3 days.....

this is what happen....snowy came back to eat, and when he about to sleep, orange chase him out to the window(i left it open for snowy and bunny ; they are indoor/outdoor cats)

since that, snowy hasn't returned. i saw him at my neighbour's house, my neighbour told me snowy sometimes come and play at his yard.

is this why snowy spend less time at hom now? he's uncomfortable at my home anymore? is it possible for him to abandon my house? i read he will come back once he has calm down..

My cat has a habit, a few days after I change her litter and liner, of pooping on the bathroom floor, near her litter. She jumps in and out of her box, like she is confused about where she wants to go. I clean her box every day, but after she pees a few times, she doesn't like the smell it seems. Even though I use clumping litter and clean it regularly. I've even switched litters. Does anyone have any ideas of how to deter her from using the bathroom floor?

When he is preparing to take a nap on me he moves his paws like he is giving me a massage, but he kinda scratches me in the process. I don't think it's on purpose though.

I was horrified to find out that after a recent trip to Canada, one of my mum's friends had her cats 'de-clawed' so they wouldn't scratch at the furniture. I think this is disgusting and barbaric !!

I'm just wondering how many people have done this to their cats in US/Canada? It's certainly not common practice in the UK.

The bully is a big cat...several pounds bigger than the others, and he seems to want to establish dominance on the other two on a daily basis. It's getting old, but I hate the idea of giving him or the other two away. But the female that's being bullied has become afraid to use the litter boxes, I guess he is attacking her while she's relieving herself, I haven't seen him doing it, but she has begun having bowel movements around the house. Somebody help me with this! Thanks.
