Cats - October 2007

This is the girl who supposedly was going to "kick her cat out of the house!" I would never do that, I love all of my animals dearly. My main concern is the litter box. The older cat does enjoy being outside, but she lives inside. So, the litter is a keeper if she is!! I scoop it out every day and we keep it very clesn. Actually, my husband is currently cleaning it b/c I am pregnant. Can the litter box make a baby sick?? This is our first child and I am not sure how all of this will effect everyone (baby and pets!!). I value other opinions and suggetions when it comes to pets. If you have any suggestions, please answer me back. Just no bashing please!!

Too late now to train the cat not to spray everywhere- it and my roommate are both gone. Now I'm just left with the constant reminder of them. Will the smell go away by itself over time without replacing the carpet and subflooring if I just air the place out?

We got a kitten that is about 4 months old from the animal shelter. We got her and she had diarrhea for a week. The shelter had us leave her for a week, they said it is her diet. They gave us special can food said to mix it with her dry food. She still has diarrhea. Any suggestions on a good food that will help stop the diarrhea.

My cat got a rabies vacine at a low cost mobile clinic and the messed up on the paper work and said he was a she......I am bringing him to petsmart to be groomed in a few weeks after he gets over his nuetering. Not only did they mess up oin his sex but they wrote the wrong name and then crossed it out an dput his name on the rabies certificate. So my question is will petsmart think i am giving them the wrong rabies certificate just to get my cat bathed??? im kinda mad thats one of the main reasons i tgot the vaccine hes an indoor cat.

also anyone know about how much it cost to get my cat groomed?

Ive already given her a medicated bath and also have used neosporin on the bumps but they dont seem to be going away. I also trimmed her nails to keep her from making them worse. The vet said the medicated bath should help but didnt and I cant get ahold of him.

i have 3 cats. all seem to have this problem. i noticed a few days ago that wherever my cats sleep, they leave behind black and white specks/flakes. almost like salt and pepper. but there is ALOT of these specks/flakes. i've checked them for fleas (combed them, etc) but have found nothing. and i'd think with the amount of stuff that coming off my cats, i'd see atleast one flea. my cats seem normal and healthy. so, i'm a little confused.

I have a cat that's in need of a humane shelter for 2 months cuz I need to move into my friend's house.
I can take it back afterwards.
Does anyone know where I should go?
It doesn't matter if I need to pay money.
However, please list the amount if possible.
Thank you.

I'm asking this question to help spread awareness on a very important and controversial issue. I have 2 cats and am a strong advocate of keeping cats inside for their safety. I believe the outside world is no place for wondering animals. What are thoughts on this issue? I have this issue addressed on my website also to help spread the word. http://maketheconnection.co.nr

my 19 year old cat is really skinny. She had diariha. We stopped giving her milk (I now know milk isnt correct for cats -sorry) and she has stopped the diaariha. She has been sick every other day, once a day. three days ago I halfed her portions so she gets four smaller meals nstead of two big meals and she hasnt been sick yet.(fingers crossed that this lasts) She is terribly skinny. I have a apointment for the vetranrian tomorrow. Im really worry. Does this sound bad? Is she on her way 'out'? she is old. Or is this just old age.? She is CONSTANTLY hungery! how many times do you feed a cat and does it get more when there older or less or stay the same??? I give her two of those whiskers foil pouches aday (I live in England so dont know if your famillier with this product and its size. (it doesnt have a weight of food on the packet - which it should - so i carnt tell you presicly how much i give her)
I hope this makes sence, PLEASE HELP! it will crush my mum if she dies.

Hi every1. I have had a kitten (now 8 months old) that I adopted from the shelter, and my girlfriend brought home a new 6 week old kitten. Do cats normally adjust? Is my first cat going to be ok? He plays with her, but he's used to playing rough and he seems to want to bite her (we've had the new kitten for a few hours now). Anyone have any advice. comments, suggestions?

I have a female cat who came to my house as a stray. I was wondering if there was any way I could tell if she has already been spayed? Would there be any incision scars and where would they be?

I have 2 cats, about 8-9 months old. I have a mirror hanging over my couch. My male cat will sit there for HOURS staring and pawing at himself in the mirror, and he will stand up on his hind legs and try to claw through it. Then he gets tired, lays down in front of it and sleeps, starting over again when he wakes up. Other cat (female) could care less.

I heard that cats dont understand that it is THEM in the reflection. It seems like he's trying to get into the other side of the mirror. Sometiems he wakes up, and RUNS to the mirror to stare for a while. Is this odd? He seems to be having fun, but should I move the mirror?

She's about 6-8 weeks old. I found her in my driveway. She has been examined briefly by a pet store employee and seems in okay health and I'll be taking her to the vet soon. In the meantime, she fiercely attacks me and anyone who comes over as they walk by, sit down, anything. I am covered in scratches on my legs, ankles, and arms. I have never raised a kitten by myself. Is this normal? Will it stop? When? Please help me, any advise on this and other new kitten topics will be greatly appreciated.
