I'm sorry for your loss. Bury her in the garden she deserves to be buried poor little thing sounds like she had a rough life till she found you lay her to rest with dignity don't give her to the vets they just burn them all together.Your children need to say goodbye to her and burying her in a special place will allow them to do that.Make a memory box for them to keep i did one when i lost my little cat last year i put her dish and favourite toy in and a lock of her hair, and photos of her. I had her buried in the pet cemetery it would have been her 3 rd birthday tomorrow and having a place to visit helps i can go and sit with her for a while.I grieved for her and still do like i would my daughter because to me that's what she was and too your children your cat would be like a sister so let them say goodbye to her. If one day you decide to have another cat please please keep it as a house cat they are so much safer and studies show they live a longer and healthy life. GOD SPEED LITTLE KITTY REST IN PEACE.

How did this happen? I'm assuming she was an indoor/outdoor or outdoor cat? I strongly advocate keeping cats inside because the outside world is no place for animals to wonder aimlessly. I would find a nice quiet spot under a tree for her, wrap her in a soft towel and leave some of her toys. I am so sorry.

For now, don't bury her. I'm not sure what the laws are in the UK exactly, but in the States it's illegal to bury animals that large in your yard. You should wrap her in a towel and find a quiet spot, like the garage, where she won't be disturbed until tomorrow. Most vets offer a cremation service for animals that have passed on, which I recommend from experience.

I'm really sorry, I know what it's like to lose a cat in a road accident, it;s horrible and really distressing. Do you have somewhere you can bury her rather than take her to the vets? If you don't do you have a garage or outside shed you could put her in for the night? She needs to be in a box of some sort, and definitely outside but protected from wildlife. My heart goes out to you and your family, animals have a way of worming themselves into our hearts and families and when they leave is they leave a huge hole. If you don't have anywhere safe outside can a friend or family member help you for one night?

I am sorry for your loss. Let your children participate in a burial for your cat. Wrap it or box it and bury it. It helps children to realize the loss is permanent and the burial ritual helps with the grief. Taking care of the body shows your care and consideration for the cat.

Put her in a box somewhere like an outhouse or under the stairs then get your shovel out tomorrow. Or ask a friend or neighbour to bury her tonight.

That is terrible , I would wrap her in a towel and place her in a box and put her safe in the garage, shed or whatever overnight then have a funeral in the garden tomorrow. Make sure that the kids know what has happened or they will worry about where she is.

So sorry to hear that, very upsetting. You could always wrap her in ablanket and put her in the shed if you have one or in a box covered up outside....
