Our new cat is about three years old and we got her yesterday from a siamese rescue center. The president of the center was telling us she has always had watery eyes and a runny nose. And she has a flea allergy. Could the symptoms be related to the allergy or any other ones we don't know about? She's a Burmese, so her face is very short and hatchet-like almost. Would her face make-up have anything to do with it?

Thanks.

My dad told me that it goes and makes a home of its own somewhere else if its mate has kittens. Since my first male cat ran away and came back once maybe to say goodbye, my dad took my new cat to get his sperms removed. Do they really run away because they have kittens?

She is approx 14 years old. Her left hand thigh bone ball was broken when she was about 2 yrs. The vet said that cats can live with this. After some confinement she did. But now, being an old puss doesn't jump about as much. She drinks over a pint a day. Her food is moistened cat biscuits because she has no teeth.

Ok, so please don't tell me how irresponsible you think I am for letting my cat get pregnant, I wanted my cat spayed ....

But now she is in labor. We gave her a flea pill and she is ok. The vet reccommened doing this.

She is lying on a blanket in the middle of the living room, is it ok to pet her or give her some water or will that distract her ?

I got a dog about a month ago. The dog doesnt bother her much, he just chasees her around the house. My problem is, whenever I call the dog, Sagwa (my cat) runs and jumps in my lap. She doesnt care about me unless I call the dog, and she knows im calling eddie ( my dog). She is a very affectionat cat, but she hates it when I call the dog. Do cats get jelaous?

The vet told me to break open the capsules of dewormer medication, and mix it in a little bit of soft cat food .. let him eat it, then give him the rest of his food. Well, he KNOWS the medication is in there ... he ate a minute amount, then turned his nose up at the rest. So, I put the remaining food in the fridge, then gave it back to him at each meal time. He STILL refuses to eat it. Any suggestions would be appriciated ...

I have had a cat for a nearly a year. At first she was rather cute but then a couple of months ago she just started to become a real pain. Scratching the furniture and peeing all over the place.

I took her to the vet to have it checked out to see if anything was wrong. The vet told me she was fine and nothing medically wrong. I tired to have her placed in a shelter as I could not handle it anymore, but they just told me that she will most likely not be adopted due to her issues.

Last week I finally had it and just could not take it anymore.

So I decided to have her put down. I figured it would be better to end it quick than to have her stressedd and put into a shelter with the same ending.

Today, I am a little emotional about the whole thing and torn if I did the right thing...

Ladies any thoughts?

I have three cats and have never had a flea problem before. For the last month they have been wearing flea collars (I hate using the flea drops) but the problem only seemed to get worse. Today I vacumned and sprayed the bedding and furniture (what I couldn't wash anyway) with flea spray. Washed all three cats with flea shampoo and have applied the flea drops. I also fogged the house. My concern is that I am brushing all the cats with a flea comb and constantly pulling off live fleas and little black "debris". None of the fleas seemed to have died. I am worried that the infestation will continue. Does it just take time for them to die off or do I need to do more? I am desperate to get rid of them. Thanks for any info you have.

Unless there's another way to get rid of them, because I've tried shampoo's and it doesn't seem to work. I'm worried.

I have OCD(about cleaning only) and my kids are dying for a pet kitty and (even I love cats) but my problem is I'm so scared it's going to poop on the floor or drink from the toilet which would problably make me throw up and clean up the whole entire house. It would also bother me alot if I saw the cat walking on the counter or the table. My neighbor told me her cat always steps on the poop in her litter box and I thought that was really gross. Otherwise I love cats and I don't mind taking care of them, even if it means I have to clean it's litter box. I'ld probably consider investing into an automatic self cleaning one. I think those are the major problems I would be worried about getting a cat and I would prefer to get a cat than a dog or any other pet. Any suggestions please.

well basically my sister bought kitten flea medicine on ebay but when we got it, it was dog flea medicine with instructions on how much to use on her. We looked it up on yahoo answers and the internet and we're running low on money so we just used it. My cat started to scratch more and shed within the hour so we washed it off. (i think) I went to the vet and they said that it could be eating her flesh (it's been on her for more than a week and she's fine) but they said i should just get a $50 check up. Most of my friends are telling me to just get her kitten flea medicine and put it on her. Please keep in mind, that I'm not the richest person in the world and i'm going through money problems right now so $50 isn't that easy for me to get.

My kitten got out this morning and has disappeared. I've been looking and calling all day. It's dark now. He's never been out before and he's fixed. Is there a chance he'll come home? I have some grown outdoor cats who are all home now. Can my kitten smell them maybe and find his way home?

Ok, as for details, When ever I pet, rub, or sratch Her lower back, near the tail, she get's very jittery. She look around quickly, and act as if she's trying to bite her tounge. If I keep petting her, she turn and bite my hand, or her own leg, but they aren't hard bites as if she was trying to make me stop. The bites are softer and playful. She did have fleas, and may still have them, But I have been using a chemical in her blood to kil them when they bite. She has been doing this before I used the chemical. Could it be the fleas making the spot so sensitive? Is it hurting her? Please help

I had one and they were such sweet cats, but part of me thinks it's kind of mean to breed and charge for something that looks like the genes went, oops.

Our cat was sick roughly a month and a half ago. The vet doctor prescribed meds for upset stomach. Since then she has lost up to 4 pounds and is very skinny. Skin and bones. She is eating, not much, but eating and drinking nonetheless. Her behavior has not changed. Her and the other cats food was moved downstairs near the cat door. A new dog recently, but very tolerant of him. I see or hear no signs of illness but just knowing she's lost all that weight in a short amount of time worries me. What do you think is going on with my cat?

i found a male cat in feb. of this year. so i think hes around a year or so. he is energetic but also mean. he loves to attack people but i kno he thinks hes only playin. but he leaves numerous amonts of scratches and bites on me and my family. he has hid on the couch and when my 2 year old nephew walked by him he reached out and scratched him on his face makin him bleed. he wil also hide in a corner or something and when i walk in he launches at me. i absolutely love how playful he is but i'm just scared that once i neuter him he will change and not be what he was before that. he does come sit in my lap and love on me so its not like hes outright mean all the time. i love everything about him except how he bites and scratches. please someone help me. i don't kno if i should do it or not.

said he had a ulcer in his mouth and gave him clindacure. I have to give him this twice a day for as long as it lasts. I am wondering how this is going to help when everytime I give him anything he starts to convulse for an hour. I feel this is too hard on him. My sister and I think he is on his way to the promise land and we are putting him through torture. Has anyone else had to give an old cat this kind of meds?

I am currently in a foster program with a local shelter. About a week ago, we took in two kittens that used to be feral. The orange one became sick, so we gave him back to the shelter. The orange one was very friendly; however the black one is not.
We have set up their room in the bathroom, where neither of our two cats can get in, and the kitten cannot get out.
Anywho, the black kitten likes to hide in the corner, looking at us as we come in with big, unblinking eyes. We try to pet her, but she hisses and occassionaly tries to bite us. However, we we do manage to pet her, she seems to enjoy having her neck scratched, but does not purr or become friendly with us.

I know this kitten has potential, however she is very secluded. Any tips so that I can get on her good side?

P.S. We do sometimes read in the bathroom so she can get used to our presence. The kitten is also about 8 weeks old currently.
