cats, they r cute

I have had both.

Dogs: Good if you like lots of exercise and a lot of interaction.

Cats: Good if you like to be a bit quieter and calmer.

I had a yellow Lab that was a great dog. He had to be walked and cleaned up after every day (even in the most inclement weather). He was also an excellent watch dog. He required a pet sitter twice a day whenever we went away.

I now have two cats. They are playful but not as high energy as my dog. They like to sit with you or on your lap for petting. They eat much less and use a liter box which is much easier to deal with than walking.

We can go on extened vacations since the cats require only periodic checking by my son (every three or four days).

Dogs, oh my GOD do I prefer dogs

Some kids gave me a cat they found yesterday hoping I would find its owner so now I'm stuck with this kitten that I'll probably end up keeping

She (?) plays really well with my puppy, but just having both animals in the house really highlights the differences between the two, and I prefer dogs more than words can describe. Which is funny, because 7 years ago I preferred cats and defended them no end in the ongoing Dogs vs Cats battle.

Yes and Yes. I prefer medium to large dogs and I am a sucker for most cats. (I currently have 3 wild cats that I have tamed, well, I am working on the 5 month old baby girl. She now lets me pet her when I feed her. I have only held her twice and she hissed both times but she was nicer the second time.) Cats and dogs can live together in reasonable harmony. I know, we used to have 2 German Shepherds and about 22 cats, the cats were all outdoor cats and only one dog was allowed in the house. (We lived on 12 acres surrounded by cornfields and woods.)

I would have to say I'm a little more of a dog lover than a cat lover. But I do own three cats and only one dog.

I used to be a dog person, but then I got myself a cat two infact, and I now realise I am a cat person. They have such personallity and are independant but loving anyway. Much easier to take care of. They take care of themselves. No taking them outside to preven accidents. It is better to scoop a litter box once a day. I do love dogs and don't mind having them, but I think my cats have taken my heart!

I am a cat person.

But I now have one dog and one cat, and Chancey is my first dog, he is my husband's, officially. I have found that dogs like me better since we got him!

But forced to make a choice, my cat Shelby is my little sweetheart.

Dog's are high maintenance. You have to feed them and they are always trying to get your attention. You cannot leave them alone for very long.

Cat's can take care of themselves. Give them a gallon feeder and water bowl and they will be fine. They do not bug you for your attention all of the time.

We have three cats. They are the best!
