Most OTC deworming products are ineffective. If you bought it at a local store, you should probably return it or throw it out. Your vet can give a very effective dewormer which will kill various worms in a day. They recommend re-treatment in two weeks in case any eggs are around and re-infect.

At 8 weeks, you should be contemplating seeing the vet for the first time anyway. Vaccines should be started, FELV/FIV testing, and a good wellness check and scheduling the neuter are in your pets best interest for a long and happy life.

Kittens and Puppy's need to be wormed every month until they reach 6 months of age then worm them every 3 months, If you are using Panacur Granules your kitten will need 1 sachet every day for 3 consecutive days, any other wormer and it will be just be the one dose.

Connie is right. You are administering a poison to your kitten and it should be done with a medication prescribed by a vet!
