he was left behind with no food no nothing when he was a kitten, I started leaving food & water out on my porch for him and the next thing you know I named him Popeye because of his strength, He had been attacked by a pit bull dog, the dog puntured or bit his right eye, anyway, he stayed but never wanted to come in. his eye swolled up and was all Gray it stayed like that for about 2 yrs, he never acted like it bothered him at all, he is a really loving cat as long as you don't try to pick him up, he does not like to be held anyway. now it seams that his eye has busted right in the center, it had a little bubble on it and that was scratched or something and it seeps a little puss but no blood, I tried to wipe it off a gently as I could with a warm soft cloth. what else can I do for him, he acts like it hurts a little now, he is now 3 yrs. It Breaks my Heart to see him like that, he is so very loving. Deb

Wrap him in a towel, pick him up, and take him to a vet. Poor thing

You need to trap him and take him to a vet. I say trap because you said he doesn't like to be held but if you can get him into a carrier, that would work just as well. It sounds like a very serious injury and should be looked at. It may be so serious that he may even lose it. If you feel you need to trap him, you can rent humane traps from your local animal shelter. I would call and let them know your situation. They should be able to rent you a trap for a small fee. So, trap him and get him to the vet ASAP. This is what I would do. I hope it's not too late for his eye.

Take him to the vet, he needs to have that fixed and if has been your cat, you wanna take care of him :( he sounds like a wonderful pet!, I adopted 2 dogs that came with a long list of problems, and are just fine now :)

It's an easy procedure, antibiotics, I know the tricky part is holding him, but I'm sure he trusts you enough to get near him and touch him :)

A cat adopted us that we started to feed, but he would never even allow us to pick him up, and his ear was kind of rotting off. We talked to a vet and ended up putting antibiotics in his food, and that helped to heal the ear. So that is an idea, but since it sounds like your cat will let you pick him up, he really needs to go to the vet. Good Luck.

He must get to a vet ASAP. Eye infections are very dangerous because of the close proximity to the brain.

Take him to the vet. He probably has a very bad infection and will need antibiotics. Call your local vets/humane society.
