perhaps it is marking its territory on her as they can sense when someone is pregnant. its very sweet in a way that they feel so close to her and want to protect her

I've never heard of this happening before but I'm guessing that it's a male cat detecting the hormones coming from a pregnant female and is spraying to mark his territory.

Is this person the primary caregiver? The cat may be telling her that something is wrong with itself. First take it to the vet to rule out any possible infections. If there are no infections, the cat may be retaliating for not having as much attention as it is used to.

Cats can sometimes sense things like this and go about it in different ways like some preffer to follow and others do other odd things so it's probably nothing to worry about!
