love the stories,I am without a cat :(
a beautiful cat visits, and it always wants out, after food of course!
I think it depends on the type of cat.maybe indoors is too hot if the cat has long hair?

My cats prefer whichever side of the door they are on the opposite side of. This is especially true when it is raining or freezing cold and the door in question is firmly closed.
I then have to become the unpaid door opener, cat warmer & drier, supplier of food to sustain on their journeys back to the other side of the door.
We have gone through 13 rounds of this game before I've got completely cheesed off and walked away!

For some reason all 3 of my cat prefer indoors. I can leave the door wide open and they may stick their heads out but that is as far as they will go. I feed them indoor formula food and have planted Cosmic Kittyherbs in pots for them to eat on. You can get this at your local pet store or ask your vet about it. I have also provided them with many things to climb on and play with to keep them entertained when I'm not home. My vet said most cat prefer outside but there are those rare few that like the comforts of the indoors the best.

Just remember an indoor cat on the average lives 12-15 years. An outdoor cat lives 2 - 5 years. Choose wisely. As your kitten you need to decide.

My cats are all indoor cats, I would never let them outside. It's too dangerous, they could catch a disease, fight with other cats, get run over by a car and so on... They are very happy indoors, they never ask to go out!

I have three cats, one (13 years old) likes indoors more, I think, another (3 years old) like indoors/outdoors equally, and the other (3 years old) seems to prefer outdoors more, although all of the above depend on the weather. And their mood.
Basically, they're all nuts.

I'm not sure which they prefer, but I know what they get. They are totally indoor cats, that is for their saftey and my peace of mind. That would probably like to be out, even for a few, but it isn't happening. They have windows they can sit in and a slidding glass door that when open they can look out...

We have two cats, brother and sister, from the same litter.
The female nearly always stays indoors. Sometimes in the summer she will go out but never when it is cold. The tom goes out frequently. He comes back in after an hour or two and eats. He comes back in to go to bed. I think he still prefers indoors but certainly goes out a lot.
They are Orientals, pedigrees.

If you keep your cat indoors it is safest but you have t be aware they need a special diet of food lower in calories and toys to stimulate them and be understanding when they scratch furniture etc as they need to do things they do in the wild in the confines of your home. However being inside and using the litter tray (or not!) means you can keep a closer eye on their health and welfare! Always remember that a house cat needs its space as too much contact for most cats can lead to stress which in turn manifests itself in behavioural problems and illness (e.g. over grooming) Also they need brushing more inside as their natural hunting helps groom the coat as they slink through bushes etc.
Have had 5 cats and only 1 who we believe was feral when we adopted him likes to be outdoors but even he comes in at dusk every night (except when he is stuck on a roof etc!)

My cat is indoor cat. She'll run outside but come back in a few hours. I think she likes being inside.

Is he neutered? I surely have finished this with a feral, catch, neuter, launch woman, in spite of the undeniable fact that it took awhile. I progressively had her stay in longer and longer. It helped that i all started in the spring here and by utilising summer she became who prefer the a/c interior than the sweltering warmth of outdoors. It took a pair of million a million/2 months, yet toys, treats and being flea-loose won her over. She hasn't been out when you consider that.
