Lately I heard on the news that 15 cats died because of an ingredient inside the cat food. What should I feed my 2 kittens who are younger than 8 months old? Which brands are safe?

I was told by my vet that i could put a bit of canfood and mix it with the milk replacement to make it into a slushy. My kitten seems to not like the dish appoach cause she's so use to the syringe or the bottle. So i was wondering if there are other ways of feed her??? I tried a small saucer dish and she'll try to eat it but she keeps on putting her nose in it while she eats. Help!

my kitten fell in a very hot bath, and got burnt.
his little ears was very swollen, but its gone down now, but the ends have gone all hard.
he is a siamese, will the ends fall off, or will it heal? will he lose the shape of his ears?
it didnt blister or peel or bleed.
anybody who had seen the after effects of burns to cat's ears.
and before you start barraging me with insults about animal care, i was there when it happened. it was an accident.

My Cat is 9 months old and she escaped for a few days and i founf her in an ermm very comprimising position with a tom cat. Since she was gone a few days i am assuming that wasnt the first time so what would i do to confirm if she was pregnant. Is there any tests the vet can do? What would i need if she was pregnant and would she be ok alone with her kittens in the first few days as i work full time?

Okay, about two weeks ago, my cat had kittens and since then everytime my neighbours cat is on the windowsill, my cat will run and jump to the windowsill and start hissing, which scares my neighbours cat off the windowsill. Is there anyway I can stop this?

My cat is due to go back outside today for the first time in over 6 months since is apparently Spring.

We keep her inside when it is cold or bad weather and durring winter months

She has had her frontline flee treatment from the vet and been wormed

I have noticed as she is black that she is covered in white dandruff like flakes

She is not scratching and is her happy normal self

She has been spayed. And is about 3 years old

She has a lot of black fur and is malting quite rapidly. She is regulary groomed.

What is the prombem and what can solve it.???

mine and my boyfriends 4 and a half month old kitten acts more like a dog than a cat for example she pants like a dog and has her tongue hanging out when shes playing just like a dog, she actually barked a few weeks ago, she follows us everywhere, when we throw her a toy, she brings it back, she crys when we are not there (i know that because my bf's dads there) and she likes watching tele. The family where she was born had a german shepard do just wondering if it could be because there was a dog there from when she was born! Anyone know why or had this with their kitten????? Many thanks

My husband has a turkish van, beautiful cat, that he rescued as a small kitten. I've done a little reading, never hearing of the breed before. The one thing this cat loves to do is bat his water out of his water bowl, driving me nuts, or he likes to play in the commode, getting water everywhere. Does anyone have anymore details about this particular breed?

My cat has stomatitis, an autoimmune disorder that is NOT contagious.
Since I have administered antibiotics to other cats in the past -- without any problems -- I tried to give my cat her first dose of antibiotics. Unfortunately, she got totally hysterical and scratched my arms up pretty badly.
Now I am worried...

But not about toxoplasmosis. I have lived with cats most of my life, and I should be immune to toxoplasmosis. Being pregnant, I know not to get anywhere near her litter box -- just in case!

I am much more worried about cat scratch disease. What would be the signs, if my cat is carrying it? What would happen to a pregnant woman if she got it? Worse than for a non-pregnant person?

Note that my cat is 100% an indoor cat (if it makes any difference).

My kitten is always cleaning me and then love biting me ALL the time. He does this in the mornings and in the middle of the night. He seems very attached to me. When i use the washroom he follows me all the time and Seems to have to sit on my lap when im using hte washroom . If i dont let him he jumps up and crys anyways. Previously he was in an abusive home and Ive ha him for 5 months now and is it an attachement thing or am I a cat to him. I will admit...I act like a cat with him sometimes and its to make him relaxed and calm down (he has behavior issues) He sleeps with me. Sits with me. Walks all over me littlerally. When im cooking hes with me. Its weird but am i a cat to him... Or just a really cool parent???

Hi. My cat, Pumpkin, has been acting weird lately. I was wondering if anyone could please give me some insight. I am worried that something is wrong... I bought her some new food the other day, (she was eating Purina Kitten Chow) I got her the Whiskas "Meaty Selections" brand of food. And that night, I went to bed, and in the morning, I woke up and she had tipped over her food bowl. I thought maybe it was an accident... and I tried to refill the dish, and carry on. Then I saw her knock it over again. She grabbed the dish with her mouth and she just flipped it over. SO, I thought that maybe she really didn't like the food, or I sprung it on her too fast... and that maybe we should try to go back to the kitten chow. She seemed happy at first, but tonight, she knocked it all over again. And she has been running around and acting weird. If anyone can give me some insights, I would greatly appreciate it. She is about 10 months old. A calico. I got her from another family. Thank you!!

My Persian kittie, Yoda, loves to be outside. He has his own cat door. I went out of town for four days, left him inside (the neighbors did come over to feed and love him), and he ended up depressed and in the vet with an IV overnight, so keeping him indoors-only is not an option. I brush him often, but cannot seem to keep his mats under control. The only thing that seems to work is a fine-toothed comb. If I get the comb between his skin, and the small mat, I can pull it out. The problem is, he screams, and my heart gets faint! I can't stand to hurt him! This method leaves him with small bald spots where the mat used to be. These are small mats, so the bald spots can only be seen when I am checking him for more mats. Is he just protesting, or am I causing him serious trama? Is there a less painful way to take care of this? I love my cat so much, and would love some good advice at keeping him tangle and mat free!! I do brush him daily, but now he hates it. HELP!!

I have been so freaked out over this recall. I have been feeding my cats dry Meow Mix - regular and hairball remedy. I also have Friskies canned food and Whiskas bits and gravy pouches. Does anyone know if these are safe? Can anyone suggest any brands to feed them? I don't want to feed them anything made by menu foods
