Doe anyone know when a scottish fold comes into full maturity? She's about a year old now and still just a tiny thing?

They are a medium breed and mature at 12 months old. She should weigh between 6 and 9 pounds. It is imperative that Scottish Folds be obtained from Reputable ethical breeders. Folds can not be bred to folds, they must be bred to straight eared cats. British shorthairs are approved in the Fold breeding program. If a Fold is bred to a Fold, a skeletal abnormality occurs. The condition is called Osteochondrodysplasia. It can occur at any age. If it is of concern, then it would be worthwhile to have her checked by your vet.

They can reach sexual maturity at any time, so be wary if she's not desexed.

I have been a Scottish Fold breeder for more than 13 years. Females are smaller than males and usually about 7 pounds. I've had girls as small as 5 pounds and as large as 11 pounds. I have a blue/cream classic tabby named "Tiny" who is about 6.5 pounds and just adorable. Then there's "Towser" who is 10 pounds.

She is technically an adult at 8 months and has probably reached her full bone growth by then. Usually they keep filling out and getting prettier as they get older. By the time she's a year old she's just about there.

She may not come into season, though, until she is 1 1/2 to 2 years old. They're sometimes slow in that respect.

Let her do her thing! Catz is Catz. You can read every book and can follow the instructions, but in the end, everything will be general! Scottish-Fold? Are the ears down properly? Always thought those catz might have a wee-bit-o hearing issue. If she is small, could be the runt of the litter. Again, not to worry. Spook took a few prizes in her time. Oh, those runts! Check out my profile. Toodles!
