My boyfriend and I were discussing this today and neither of us knew why. I have had cats my whole life and never really thought about it before, but all of them do it.

I'm currently planning to go to Seattle (from Indianapolis) during Summer this year. I have a 7month old cat, and I'm hoping to bring him with me rather than leaving it to the cares of others.

I'm wondering if anybody can share with me about cat traveling? In terms of cost and the process?

Thanks!

My male kitty got neutered recently, just yesterday in fact. He's doing well, eating and drinking as he's supposed to, but even after We picked him up I haven't seen any stitches on him. Is this because he's a black cat and the stitches are black as well, or is it because of something else? He has not been licking or biting at the area, and the incision is doing well, with no bleeding or discharge... or stitches. He's about 13 months old, mixed breed kitty with no extra health problems besides occasional spraying.

I have 2 male cats. I am getting one more (no more than that!). Would it be better to get the third as a male or female (both males are "fixed")? What combo would get along better-- 2 males, 1 female or 3 males? Please advise why... thanks!

My act is in stage 2 of chronic renal failure. My vet says that he feels no pain and this is not a painful condition until the very end when he will develop sores and ulcers. I read from other posters on these boards that a cat with his condition is in fact in pain. So what is your experience?

I really hope you can assist me with this issue. For the last three days, my 4 year old male cat's right eye seems to be watery. I've dabbed tissue on it just to see if there is any kind of discolored goop, but it isn't. Whew. I've examined the eye and it isn't red or puffy. It looks normal in shape and color as the left eye. I am wondering if it is just a slight allergy or if it could be something much worse. He is still playing, eating and going about his normal behavior. Nothing has changed.
I can't see his vet until Monday so I am wondering if there is anything I can buy over the counter for watery eyes OR should I just wait until I see the vet?

Thank you!

I have a 2 year old female cat that gets incredibly hyper in the morning and early evenings. She runs around the house like mad, and her tail is sometimes puffed out. She'll also sometimes stop in front of me or someone else in the house, and then jump in the air and run around again. I don't mind this behavior, in fact I think it's entertaining. But I'm just wondering...is she just playing? Is she frightened by something?

She's strictly an indoor cat, is spayed and has all of her claws. She's very affectionate and social as it is, so I'm wondering if she's just burning off pent up energy...

I just bought a condo with my Girlfriend and I, and she has two cats. One is 16 years old and the other is about 9 months old. The 16 year old is a boy and the other is a girl. The thing is this 16 year old cat has been living in the same house for 16 years. So, do you think he will adapt to our new place? Both cats love to go outside but, I really do not want them going out in the parking lot. I was thinking I could make them adapt to the indoor life style in a new place without going nuts. Okay, thanks!

I've tried Fabreze..not the answer. I think soaking this thing in a solution of something will be the only way to get rid of the smell. Can't use bleach..backpack is blue. Anyone know a tried and true solution?(pardon the pun)

I've been told that nothing can remove this odor as far as cats are concerned. They can smell through anything with their powerful sense of smell.

I'm mainly concerned with the human aspect of this problem. If I can't smell it..I don't care if it's there.

I intend to air dry the backpack in the sunshine for a couple of days..so the product must be able to stand up to that.

I just found out my male outside cat has feline AIDS, I took him to the Vet because he had a abscess in his foot. I have two male inside cats, but all three are neutered. The outside cat and one of the inside cats are stalking each other hissing and growling. I am scared my outside cat will give the others feline AIDS (both inside cats were checked and came out negative).
I put the cat with AIDS in my bathroom and he broke out by popping out the screen and at night it sounds like I have a poltergeist in my bathroom, he's miserable being inside and he can stand any of the inside cats. What should I do?

I would love to adopt a pair of cats once I get a job. I like the idea of very affectionate cats but my main concern is their welfare which is why I am doing my homework now.

In light of the recall, I was doing some research on ingredients in pet food. I was disturbed at some of the things that I read such as diseased animals, roadkill, and euthanized pets are sent to the rendering plants to be processed into cat and dog food. If it is true, that is disgusting. I get sick thinking that I could be feeding my cat food with someone's euthanized cat in it. Not to mention, my 2 year old nephew often frequents his pet dog's food dish. My sister and I thought it was funny because he is always trying to put it in his mouth and eat it. Now it is a great concern if he does eat some. Does anyone know if these production plants are regulated or are the regulations just really not doing anything?

I heard something a while back about a shot that you can give cats to make their dander less of an allergen, does anyone know anything about this?

Unfortunately, my cat has been feed special kitty packets. I had not bought that kind a few weeks before the scare or since. I looked it up on the net, and most of it was the kind with liver which i do not give her cuz it makes the "poo" really stink.
In Jan, she hid for a day and i thought she was in a cat mood.
Then the next day I picked her up , she was warm , smacking her lips and very lethargic. Of course it was a Friday night, on Sat she barely moved. Was ready to go to vet mon, but on Sunday nite I forced water down her and she perked up. No probs since. How long does it take for the kidney problems to manifest. Read in the paper this morning that it was fairly quick. If this was a the prob in Jan, would she not have met her maker by now? Serious replies only please.

My cat is due to have her kittens any day. She is HUGE! She is half Siamese, and usually very lean. She looks like she is going to pop she is so large. I have heard that a cat will not have more kittens than she has nipples. I adopted her when she was already pregnant, so we are having our first ever litter of kittens - after this she will be spayed. Her previous owner told me that she had 5 kittens in her last litter. Can you tell how many she may have with the size of her stomach and the fact that she had 5 the last time. I am just worried......she is so big and I just knew that I would find babies this morning when I went downstairs!!

My cat has been sleeping too much for the past couple of days. Sleeping and not getting up even for things he loves, like the printer sound or food sound. He eats, but only his favourite food when he gets very hungry - normally he keeps asking for food all the time. He accepts that I hold him for a long time, which he usually doesn't. His breath is a little quick and I can hear him breath, like his nose is a little stuffed, but not visibly.
He is a male 3 years old. We went to the vet yesterday. He had a blood test, no problem with kidneys or liver. His lungs don't sound like having a problem. He doesn't have fever, although his temp is a little higher than usually and hs ears are warm. He has no fleas or worms. The vet couldn't find something wrong, but the cat looks very sick (very tired, he doesn't move at all for hours). Any ideas? Could he have a cold? Is that common, like with humans, just a cold which is not serious, or do you think he may have some serious problem? and where?

could she have parasites that irritate her backside, and seeks to cool off the irritation that way? Her box habits are also not great, and she doesn't bury very well.
