My cat is due to have her kittens any day. She is HUGE! She is half Siamese, and usually very lean. She looks like she is going to pop she is so large. I have heard that a cat will not have more kittens than she has nipples. I adopted her when she was already pregnant, so we are having our first ever litter of kittens - after this she will be spayed. Her previous owner told me that she had 5 kittens in her last litter. Can you tell how many she may have with the size of her stomach and the fact that she had 5 the last time. I am just worried......she is so big and I just knew that I would find babies this morning when I went downstairs!!

she might be carrying a large litter, but that's no need for worry. She might have more than last time, especially if last time was her first.

Like a human (my sister in law is due to have her 2nd child in August) the position of the babies can make her stomach stick out more, or not. It could be more about that then how MANY kittens your cat is carrying.

BTW, to know that her time is near, watch for changes in her behavior: excessive licking of the genitals, pacing, yowling, uneasiness or restlessness. That will clue you in that the time is at hand. Just give her a box made comfy with towels in a closet or secluded place. If she starts to deliver, quietly watch if you can and just see that everything goes good.

Only a vet that does an Xray can tell. She may have 5 or she may have 8. She should be checked by a vet regardless and many vets want to see Momma and kittens 24-48 hours after birth to make sure everything is allright.

Please talk to your vet so you know what to expect, what to do if you need to intervene etc. He is your best source of information.

Vet's value, there is usualy no concern right here. the 1st ingredient she desires a place to grant delivery(despite meaning) in the back of a settee or in a closet with the door open. A pile of previous clothing that are clean yet with your heady scent on them, so the kittens would be attentive to you. have relaxing. slayerwulfe
