I would love to adopt a pair of cats once I get a job. I like the idea of very affectionate cats but my main concern is their welfare which is why I am doing my homework now.

Ragdolls obviously need the same care as any other cat. We had to leave our baby ragdoll home alone for about the same amount of time, and although he wasn't too happy about it, he just adjusted his sleep schedule until we were able to get home. Eventually, we got another cat companion for him and he was perfectly ok with being left alone for the day. So, I'm sure if you adopt a ragdoll pair you will be fine! Go for it! They are the sweetest cats ever!

Best of luck.

Ragdolls tend to be a very amiable cat, and not quite as "needy" as some other breeds might be when the owner works all day.

Getting two kittens is a great idea, because they will entertain each other. But they will still need attention from you. A last play session before bedtime, often avoids midnight bouncing on the bed because you are "gone" again.

You can get away with one large litterbox, but scoop it several times a day. First thing in the morning, and if you have time, right before you leave for work. If they have eaten, chances are they used the box. Then scoop when you come home, and again before bedtime. Cats are naturally clean animals and really object to soiled litter.

Feed canned in the morning, and leave them dry chow out for snacking. Make sure your breakables are put up, and don't leave windows open with only a screen, as more than one cat has escaped this way.

A good tip is to leave a radio on during the day. This gives them the "company" of human voices (try an information station as opposed to mostly music), and is also a deterrent for potential burglars who may wonder if there is anyone home.

I grew up with Persian cats. They will be fine as long as they have a clean litter box and toxic materials are out of their reach. Especially since you have two of them - they will be best buddies and keep themselves entertained.

Persian cats are so loving. Ragdoll's especially. They take a lot of grooming, but they will provide you with so much love and companionship. Here is an article that might be helpful! Good luck with your sweeties!!

As long as you have a litter tray for each and feed them just before and as soon as you get in from work they should be ok. Also ragdolls are indoor cats so you wouldnt have to worry about them wanting to go out to pee. Its good that you're thinking about getting 2 cats as indoor cats need company. If you get kittens though you'll have to make sure that you leave windows closed and hide any wires as my cat chewed through the speaker wires!! i keep my cat in the kitchen when im out or in bed where hes near to his food and litter, although he's now started jumping onto the cupboards and knocking things off and using my cork board as a scratch post!! Make sure that theres lots to play with and buy a scratch post. good luck!
