Unfortunately, my cat has been feed special kitty packets. I had not bought that kind a few weeks before the scare or since. I looked it up on the net, and most of it was the kind with liver which i do not give her cuz it makes the "poo" really stink.
In Jan, she hid for a day and i thought she was in a cat mood.
Then the next day I picked her up , she was warm , smacking her lips and very lethargic. Of course it was a Friday night, on Sat she barely moved. Was ready to go to vet mon, but on Sunday nite I forced water down her and she perked up. No probs since. How long does it take for the kidney problems to manifest. Read in the paper this morning that it was fairly quick. If this was a the prob in Jan, would she not have met her maker by now? Serious replies only please.

Renal failure is unfortunately, a fast process. But if she's stilleating well and acting normal I wouldn't be too concerned. I would definitely go the vet just to make sure that everything is okay.

I also buy special kitty food and am very scared about this. Your vet can do a test to ease your fears. I am taking my cats in this weekend. I hope your kitty will be O.K.

I heard on the News this morning it does not take long. They said it takes just 1 day or 2 days that the animal gets sick. A woman said that it just took 1 day that her dog got sick.

Yes, if everything is OK, I wouldn't worry to much. But if you are not sure then go the vet.
From what you explain your kitty since quite alright.
Just some TLC.
Good Luck.!!!
