I heard something a while back about a shot that you can give cats to make their dander less of an allergen, does anyone know anything about this?

yeah...give them a high quality holistic food that doesnt have wheat corn or soy in it. try eagle pack...or wellness.... most animals allergies come straight from their diet!

A company is now breeding special hypoallergenic kittens. Unfortunately, these genetically modified cats are very expensive at this point. (see the link below).

Your vet could probably recommend a food or supplement to help your cat shed less dander. Or there are shots that an allergic person can get to reduce their reactions to allergens.

Good news, There is actually a San Diego company called Allerca breeding cats that are naturally hypoallergenic. Fully hypoallergenic. Felines produce a protein that make some people allergic to them, but Allerca cats safly made their mix-breed cats contains virtually none. If you are thinking of getting one, demand is high so you might have to wait a few months. They are avaliable now and $3,950

If you can't afford Allerca cats then you can get a Siamese that produces less protein then others

Im not sure about the shots, but chances are your not allergic to the dander.. most people are allergic to a protein in cat saliva.. and as you know cats keep theyre fur clean by licking, id ask a vet for any other options.
