Take her to the vet, quickly. Clearly you've heard of the pet food contamination. I just brought my cat home today from an 8 day stay @ the vets. If this doesn't kill them it will cause long term kidney damage. Don't waste any time, she has the symptoms. The sooner she gets on the drip the better off she'll be. They should let you make payments. Call leave a message that you'll be there 1st thing in the morning!!! good luck, I mean it...

Don't panic. That's the worst thing you can do.

As for "rushing" her to the vet - an appointment tomorrow will suffice.

Cats vomit for oodles of reasons - some cats over-eat and vomit in response. Other cats have hairballs. Some cats have a condition called IBS or irritable bowel syndrome. There's just too many to list.

Drooling in a cat can be indicative of many different things. Many cats drool when they are nauseous, have a bitter taste in their mouth, or have been exposed to a toxin.

The most common cause though is drooling from nauseousness. Kind of the same way a person can't get comfortable if they are nauseous.

Just because your cat ate Iams pet food does NOT mean that she is sick from it. Very few varieties of Iams have been recalled, and the majority of products included in the recall were manufactured in Jan and Feb of this year, and thus recently hit shelves for retailing.

Call your vet in the morning and have an exam done on your cat. They are the professionals with the licenses, experience, and education to diagnose your furry kid - remember, just because you see it on the internet does not make it true. Put your trust in your vet - that is what they are there for.

A visit to the vet is always the best thing of course. My cat always drools when he is happy to be picked up and stroked. When cats eat grass or small lizards they sometimes vomit- or even a change indiet can make them sick. But vomiting can be a symptom of something more serious such as bad teeth and /or gum infections. All cats vomit at some time or another - it is the frequency that needs to be noticed.

It sounds like your cat is sick so take it to the vet asap. Iams is on the list of bad cat food so you need to get the cat to the vet. Vomiting, no energy, drinking a lot of water, limp. Go to www.menufoods.com has the list of bad cat food. Iams is 15 on the list.

Certain IAMS canned cat food are on the recall list (www.IAMS.com). The contaminated food causes kidney failure in cats and dogs. Signs of kidney failure include vomiting, lethargy or weakness, lost of appetite, frequent urination, frequent drinking of water...

Its only the canned or wet IAMS that is involved - all dry cat food and dog food are apparently safe (still).

If your kitty ate contaminated IAMS, you need to RUSH her to the vet. Even if she has not, the vomiting and drooling suggests she has ingested something toxic. Take to vet now.

If you are concerned, take her to the vet. Usually drooling comes with vomitting because vomitting causes more salivation. As for the food she was on, you would need to check the menu foods website to see if the food you were feeding is on the recall list.

Take her to the vet. Immediately. cats are unlike dogs and vomiting can mean something more serious than an upset tummy.

Good Luck

You need to take her to a licensed veterinarian. Nobody on this board will be able to answer your question and help your cat as much as your local vet.

Your feline has been possessed by evil spirits. Perform an exorcism immediately.
