Cats - February 2007

Well, I expected problems when I brought a new pet mouse home (duh). But my cats are usually very receptive to a strong NO! They usually do not repeat behavior once I say that a few times. But they will not stop trying to get into the mouse's aquarium. I know of course that little Scabbers is my cats' natural prey, but I love all of my pets and want to protect the little mouse. Is there anything I can do to keep them away from the aquarium? I thought about putting some double-sided tape down around the aquarium. Any other/better ideas?

Even though my cat has toys, and has loads of attention, if she finds a pen she will hide it under the front room rug, even taking them fron the kids bedrooms. Still at least i know where to find a pen when i need one.

Or is he just plain weird?

My cat insists on eating and biting and chewing in flowers that my boyfriend gets me, even to the point that I can't have them anymore, he even tries to eat my cactus if it is not high up.

Yet, whenever I offer him cat grass he turns his nose up at it! What does he want?

Just some basic information, my cat is an indoor cat. I feed him Neutro brand cat food, and he gets regular checkups and the vet says he is healthy.

My cat is about 5 years old. This funny thing started happening a couple weeks ago. She is part manx, so she doesn't have a tail. Theres a spot just above here "tail" that if you rub it or scratch it she starts licking herself. Before she used to just get happy when you rubbed there, but now she gets all funny. Anyone know why...or is it just like the spot on dogs that make their leg twitch???

I don't know if any other cats do this, but mine will always try to kiss me on the mouth! She does it whenever I carry her around, when I'm sitting, lying down or playing with her. The odd thing is, she only does it to me, not to my room-mate. Why?

I've had my cat for about four years and he's always been a good companion. I have two dogs that I've had for two years and they get along in the way cats and dogs do.
Anyways, the past week or so the cat has been peeing on my bed...at first I thought it was the dog until I witnessed the cat doing his deed TODAY! He's never done anything like this before. Why is he doing this? The only thing I know to do is put him down (thats what I've been told to do) and I really don't want that. Any other alternatives or is that it?

My husband and I just rescued a new cat. We already have 3 + 1 dog (I know a full house!) Anyway I took her to the vet for a check up and to get her shots before exposing her to my other cats. While there the vet told me she was pregers!!!! Like I said I already have 3 cats, she made 4!!! I don't know what to do. I can't have more cats. I've already asked around to see if I could find homes for the little ones - but no takers. Should I get her fixed anyway?? I don't know what to do. She's already 1/2 way through the pregnancy. The vet thinks there is only 2-3 kittens in there. Please don't be mean. I really just need some advice. Thanks!!!

My cat was recently spayed! She is 7 months old she was actually spayed this week. We see her trying to open her mouth to meow but nothing comes out! Now I am somewhat worried and Im wondering if its normal? She usually meows a lot if she wants to be picked up, if she wants food. if her litter box needs cleaning or just for attention. My question is : Is it normal that my cat isnt meowing after her operation? If not would ould it be and what can I do?
