what are some signs to look for 24 hours before my cat goes into labor. and what should i watch for during labor. Will she stop eating will her temp drop what are some for sure signs that labor is going to be in the next 24 hours. I have delivered puppies before is it the same. I have done tons of research but everything i see says something different. And i dont need to know i should get her spayed i know that i took her in this winter and had an appt for her to get fixed and it was to late so please dont post any rude comments like every free to good home takes the place of blah blah ive seen you put that on evey question like this and i didnt let her get this way and we live on a farm and all of the kittens are staying here. I think that it is rude for you to put that when everybody isnt trying to add to the problem some of us are trying to help and all you know is the question and nothing else. And she will be spayed along with the kittens when they are ready. anyways please help

Ok heres my problem. I am a total animal lover and I try to help as many animals as I can. In the past few years Ive rescues 4 stray cats off the streets. but im slightly allergic to cats so i cant have them in the house, so I keep them outside but give them shelter in my shed with plenty of food. I also get them fixed. I keep reading articles about how cruel it is to keep pets outside, so I dont know if im doin the right thing. My cats seem very happy and healthy but would they do better at a shelter????

My husband has fallen head over heels with our 5 month old kitten, buddha.
But ...
He loves to rough house with the cat. He gets his work gloves on and rolls the cat back and forth ... rubs his tummy ... gives him a gently throw onto the couch ... holds and gives him kisses.

Buddha will run off and then hide and ambush my husband and seemingly wants to continue to play.

My hubby tuckered him out ... the little guy is fast asleep.

Here is my question ... is it ok to rough house (which includes Buddha biting). This has turned out to be a strong "bonding" time, but is it ok in the disipline area?

Some direction -- should I let them play or what??

Thanks much!

Whenever I give him fresh water, he sticks his paw in it and then wipes his paw on the floor. He always does this. It's kind of funny to watch, but I want to know why he does this.

I was reading about Turkish Van cats today, and it seems like my cat has almost every single personality trait that makes Vans unique. (love of water, unique coat texture, facial structure) But, my cat doesn't share the unique color or body size of the Vans.

Is it possible that he's got some turkish van great grand parents or something? ...or is it just wishful thinking.

Ok, I've been fostering rescued cats for 4 years and working in a pet store for 2. So I thought I'd been around the bend when it came to cats but....

Boxing week I adopted a white persian. Behaviour problems, peed everywhere she said. The cat had no problems. The problem she she didn't maintain his coat and his urine would get stuck on HIM!

SOOOOO.... once he was shaved he was great, or was he?

The cat goes crazy to eat any and all human food and its difficult to get him to eat any cat food that is not, or mixed with, Fancy Feast. I caught him one night eating spaghetti sauce out of the pot. The pot was on the stove. It wasn't on, but other burners were. I've pulled him out of popcorn bags, he'll lick the inside. I walked away from my cereal one morning, cat was devouring Special K Vanilla Almond.

He also eats and licks tape or any adhesive.

Any suggestions? Vet says "just keep training him 'NO'"... I'm afraid for the cat's health and safety!

Buying her a new cat is not an option.
The cat belonged to her and her husband.
They had the cat for 20 years. It was 22 years old.
The cat's name was Cricket.

my nine month old cat will not use his litter box. my husband and i have used many difernt types of cat litter, and even a seperate pan for him, but still nothing.our other cats all use their box, but he hasnt seemed to catch on.
our other cats always use thier box, our oldest cat will not use the box if it does not have a hood or clumping scented litter in it.(he is a oddball i know) so we have tried a open pan, we have tried difernt clumping litters, unclumping, unscented. we have also tried wood shavings and shreded newspaper. but our little buddy still prefers the livingroom rug, no matter how many times we clean it. the litter box is cleaned daily, do i dont think that this is a issue with clieniness of the box. our vet told me that it was probly that another cat scares him away from the box when he goes to use it, or that it isnt clean enough, but even after it has been freshly cleaned he will not use it.
dose anyone know a way to get him to use his litter box?

His brother has gained weight. im not sure if somethings wrong or if its normal for one to be more playful then the other.

She actually lifts her rear for him to climb on!!!! It is so sick!!!! She is fixed and is a very small Manx (the same size as him) I rescued her at 3 weeks old and had her fixed at 4 months. I just rescued him and I was told he is a year old. I want to get him fixed but the vet said she can do it but its both costly and dangerous because the rabbits don't do well under anesthesia. I know this is weird and I don't want to bother my vet any more with questions about this rabbit's mounting. I know this is sick but Does my cat enjoy it? Will she get an infection? Besides being so disgusting to watch is this bad for her?

7 year old: pigeon coos (or similar)(hence we called her FREAK)
3 year old: meep, meep (thats what it sound like, if it can be spelled)
kitten: MerrrA MrerrA (same as above)
AND these ARE their Meows so to speak, NOT their purrs so don't bother going there!

THANK GOoDness the DOG BARKS!

What do you think about this circus? They were all adopted as strays. TRAUMA? LOL

I mean REALLY? My horses whinnied/neighed, cows mooed, pigs oink, chickens clucked (when I had any of them)

I hated to waste the meager points, but listening to them all tonight....too LOL

My cat is only 7 or 8 months old and gets up on the counter , I don't want him doing this because I don't want him spreading germs from his litter box on my counters, I've tried squirting him with a spray bottle , but he does it quick enough so that by the time I actually get out of bed with the squirt bottle , he has already jumped down, is there anything I can do to keep him from doing this?

.............other than the obvious, "well, imagine how you would feel if someone took your nail off!" i mean, sure, that's a true point, but personally i can interact with my cats a million times better since they can't claw me, so that makes me pay more attention to them, and ultimately love them more. And since i'm the one guarding them from the harsh outdoors and feeding them, they don't really need them anyway. So why is there such animosity?

Every cat that has lived in here always tries to pee on my bed and no where else. Witch make it hard for anyone else in the house to believe that any cat pees out side of the litter box.

I show her the wet spot made by the cat and she says its not. Even though theres no wet spot on the ceiling and i haven't wet the bed since the early 80's.

Cats must hate me?
