Indoor cats generally live longer unless something is wrong with them. The life expectany on them depends also on their breed. For example, Persian cats tend to have more respiratory infection because their sinuses are flattened. I am not sure where some of the people found their information, but outdoor cats, typically tend to live 4- 8 years. The reason is, they are exposed to so many things from other animals, they could get hit, they could get into poison. Indoor only cats can live anywhere from 15-20 years. My cousin has one that is 21.

I was told the average life expectancy of an indoor cat is about 14 years. Of course, genetics can play a role in this so some cats will get to be much older. If a cat goes outdoors, though, expect the average life span to be 7 years. Remember, this is an average.

well-cared for cats generally live well into their teens. The oldest cat on record was 34 years old before it died. Indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats. Of course, the life-span of any given cat depends on many variables like genetics, nutrition, natural constitution and life-style. Keep your kitty living a long interesting life by keeping her indoors, letting her out only under strict supervision; giving her good quality cat food (wet canned and a bit of dry), fresh water always, vet check up yearly, vaccinations, lots of toys and affection. Hope your kitty lives a long long kitty life. :)
