Have they had their shots? Been dewormed? A young kitten is very susceptible to parasites and disease. Good sign that he wants to eat, but if he isn't gaining any weight, get him to the vet for bloodwork and a stool sample. If it is a parasite, it can kill him in a very short time period. Parasites are contagious as well, not only to the other kitten, but to you as well.

Get him to a vet - it can take only a few days for something to go wrong and you'll regret it.

That might be his personallity but if he's loosing weight it's more. If he is eating regularly and still lossing weight there is something wrong. Many things can get into kittens. Diseases like cat lukemia if he hasn't gotten a shot for it, parvo if not vaccinated, and even worms if you never dewormed them. Cats get sick easy when they are little. I have seen my neighbors kittens die one by one because of such illnesses with similar symptoms. If this progresses he really needs to go to the vet. Amature dygnosises are not what you need. You need the truth for that kitten and it could mean life or death. Sometimes though kittens aren't very playfull but you said he used to be so a personality change somewhere along the line happened. Truly you need to seek out professional medical care for your kitten.

I would take him to the vet asap! It maybe something simple like worms in which your vet could give you medicine for but it can be something very serious. My cat lost her spunk and was loosing weight but she was over weight and I didn't worry to much about it then she got worst and I took her to the vet and she actually had a liver disease and she died a couple of days later. I regret not taking her earlier. My advice is not to have any regrets. I miss her alot and feel very guilty thinking if I took her sooner she may have lived.

I would definately take him/her to the vet. It could be something internal and you will never see it, so a blood test might tell. You haven't said if money is a problem, so I am just advising what I would do, and I don't have a lot of money myself. At least I have enought to test kitty, maybe not enough to fix her. if she has something really bad wrong.

cats are like children...they are never the same as their brother/sister. Him knowing that he's going to get fixed may be stretching it a bit...maybe he's just in a funk. Make sure to give him extra lovins and maybe he'll come around. Maybe he feels like you love the other one more....Same thing happened with my 2 kittens...showed him a little mor love and everything was fine!!
:)

Could you just maybe call the vet an ask if maybe you could come earlier, if the kitty is loosing weight that could signal something not so good good luck and make the call

Since you are taking them to the vet to be fixed next week, perhaps just mention it to the vet and get him checked out. Though it could just be the personality of the kitten, they are all different and unique.

I would tell that to the vet when you get him fixed there could be something wrong with him. Good Luck!

Sounds like it's just his personality. My two cats used to play when they were kittens, now they can barely stand to be near each other. One is more fiesty than the other.

You better have him checked before getting him fixed. He might have some other medical problems that can cause complications during the operation.
