One of my kittens is only 10 months old but she's pregnant. Is it dangerous for such young cats to be pregnant? Can it affect the health of the cat or its babies? How? Please, I really need to know. My vet told me she is too young for pregnancy.

My sister has two kids. A 2 year old boy and an 8 month old boy. She also has 2 cats. One of them is a diabetic and she has been giving him injections for a couple of years now. In the past few months he has been irritable and very agressive. He is a big cat, not fat, just big. Probably 16-18#. He has been biting the kids, and constantly terrorizing the other cat, who is old and cannot defend herself. She is barely 6 pounds soaking wet! She has been back to the vet several times to see what else can be done. The last thing she wants to do is to put him down. She is becoming desperate though and does not want to isolate him either. She does loves this cat. He is part of the family. He is a great cat when he doesn't feel bad. He needs someone with no kids or other pets, and can give him the attention he needs. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My sister's cat keeps peeing in the tub. It's really getting annoying, and it smells awful. We think that maybe she is sad because my sister went back to college, and that my cat misses her. It would be really helpful if somebody could tell me maybe why she is doing this and how to stop her?

Oh, and I don't think she's sick, she seems perfectly fine other than that.

I have a 14year old indoor male cat who USED to be long haired. 2006 was very stressful and difficult for my husband and I and things were very tense at home. Around May/June 2006 I noticed that my cat had started pulling his hair out in clumps when he was cleaning himself. He basically, over a matter of a couple of weeks, chewed off all the hair that he could reach;stomach, legs, back, tail. All he had left was a poofy tail tip and a mane like a lion. I know animals feed off of the owner,so I thought thats how he reacted. It all grew back, and things were fine, until he started it all over again at Xmas.
He does not scratch or lick at these areas, they are not red or raw.His appetite has not decreased, and he behaves in every other way normally. The difficult situations are over, the tension is gone.
Oh, this cat gets love and attention whenever HE wants it,has never been abused, hit, screamed at or anything like that.
It kills me to see his beautiful coat gone. Can you help?

I'm thinking of taking my now 1.5 year old cats (two of them) camping with us this summer. providing I am able to fit the extra stuff in the outback. my cats are leash trained and enjoy our trips out to the park that we took them on on nice days in the summer last year. I think they will enjoy it. I'll have a large or a medium sized dog crate to put them in at night or if we leave the campsite. they would only really be out while we are at camp.

anyone have any suggestions or experinces with taking cats camping with them. this camp site would be about a 20-30 min drive from home so if they freak out too much we can bring them home. anything I have to watch out for besides ticks and fleas?

any imput would be very helpful. I want to have this all planned out before the camping season begins.

My cat is truly a manipulator. It doesn't matter who you are. He will look you right in the eye and start meowing. He won't stop until you get up and follow him. He leads you right to his food bowl. No matter who is in the house, friends, relatives, workmen, everyone ends up feeding the cat. Anyone else with this dilema?

My cat seems normal otherwise; eating and drinking is normal; I discovered blood spots on the carpet several months ago and I have seen this several more times. I took her to the vet the first time and they told me she had a UTI and gave her amoxicillin; I have not taken her back because it happens once and then it doesn't happen again for weeks/months.

My 7 year old cat has recently started marking his territory by making tiny wees around the house. Nothing has changed lately, no strange cats are getting into the house. I don't know why he's doing it. His favourite spot at the moment is the iron. How do I stop him?

She started doing this about 2 years ago. Lived with another older female. Both spayed when they were young. Both are rescues.

I thought she was needed more attention; her "people" were getting a divorce and going their own way, not spending much time at home with her. I adopted her because I knew I could give her attention and my 2 neutered boys are very submissive. For 2 weeks, she was great, no marking, then it began. She is such a sweet girl, and I fear putting her down is the only answer. I'm broken hearted over this thought, but can't honestly give her to someone else with this behavior.

PLEASE!! I need help.

It was beloved to her, so i cant even think about replacing it, is that solution?

I have so far told her that its ran away.

But i cant lie.

And she wants one exactly like it, which makes it difficult as that one was a ginger special, and i am having difficulty finding one like it.

My daughter is 4 years old.

Wife says get a parrot instead i dont think that would go down to well with my daughter though!

Pls advice

On monday 2/19 they found out that he could have renal kidney failure.. his kidney couldnt get rid of toxins in his body..etc.. and due to that it made him dehydrated. They ran some tests on his blood cound and completed an ultrasound. they said that his kidney is normal size but he's still dehydrated.he's been there since then.I had to leave him there on Monday. and before I left I paid 719.00.. they said it could be higher so today they called me and sd he's still dehydrated and they want to get fluids in him.. etc I cant afford to pay anymore... I dont know if hospitals have strategies for keeping pets there than they have to be so we can pay more? They're still running some more tests to get his blood count down.. I just feel that they may just say that to get more money out of me. I do care for my cat but if i can have him home and care for him i would rather than paying more... what should i do?

My cat ate part of a rubber band - I know the danger with them and I do my best to hide them away, but apparently she found one. I didn't realize it til I found it in her litter box, and I haven't noticed any problems or strange behavior, so is she all right? Or could there still be damage that I should have checked out by the vet?

My cat begs for more food when his bowl is still 1/4 full- he loves it when I add more- does that mean it is more fresh? Or maybe he smells my other cat on the food? He also leaves a small toy in the bowl- maybe to claim the food for himself?

I have two feline roommates, Sophie and Max.

Sophie frequently beats on Max. Sometimes she treats him wonderfully, but -- other times, she's quite nasty. He'll get smacked across his furry face just for going near her if she's in a bad mood.

I'd heard of cat-on-cat violence thanks to the public awareness campaigns, but I never expected to be a witness to it. I thought it would've been the other way around -- Max is not only male, but larger -- but apparently any cat can be a victim of violence in his own home!

Anyway, I don't know if it's my place to get involved, but since I live with them, I feel like I have to. (Or should I just get another place and move out on them?) So I've tried to talk to Max.

He got really furious with me for suggesting he go to a shelter, and I don't know why. I thought that was the thing to do in domestic abuse situations? But he was all, "Shelter? F*** you!"

Should I maybe be trying to get Sophie counselling? Help!

My older cat gave birth to her second litter monday morning and Wednesday morning I hear screams. I find my cat attacking her first litter. I was told that the two kittens were chasing each other untill the mother butt in and began to attack and the male kitten began to protect his sister. I then had them seperated for a few hours, untill I allowed the mother to join them she came across her girl and was fine untill the boy showed up and was amprehensive and lay down ready for another fight which then the mother obliged and jumped him and the fighting began again. I stop the fight before anything got serious although I have read some people suggest I should just let it happen, which is harder to do when you have a 4 month old kitten screaming. The kittens and the mother are not neutered I have the plugin defuser and catnip which dont seem to be helping. Any suggestions to what I can do would be helpful.

I have 2 cats......one is about 8 yrs old, the other 6. They got along ok the first couple of years (brought the second one into the family when the first one was about 3 yrs old),and tolerated each other for the next few years. The last year, however, the older cat has begun stalking and going after the younger one. Usually it's just a matter of chasing her and antagonizing her, but on occasion it has become physical. Now the poor younger one has to look over her shoulder constantly. She spends a lot of time hiding on a kitchen chair which gives her somewhat of a cover with the tableclothe and all. Lately she has started peeing and pooping where ever she wants. I'm assuming she is afraid to be 'caught' vulnerable by the other cat in the cat box. I got them 2 cat boxes...one is covered, the other open, but that hasn't helped. I've talked to my vet who couldn't help, and I talked to an animal behavioralist who wanted $240 to help. They're both sweet cats individually...help?
