It is hard to say exctly what you should do without having more information, like how old your cat is, etc.
Before spaying, ask the vet if they can do a work-up to try to determine the cause of the seizures. Maybe it is not really due to the heat cycle. Has any bloodwork been done? X-rays? Possibly ultrasound to look at the uterus to see if there is any cancer there? IS she exposed to any toxins? Lead paint? You could even take her to a specialist to try to get to the root of the problem.
I would try to find out what caused the seizures first, treat it if possible, and then maybe consider the spay. Just remember, sometimes, even when our pets are not in the best of health, surgery is sometimes required for a definitive diagnosis.

ok your vet probably did no longer do something incorrect. We see seizure canines all the time on the emergency health facility I artwork at. So optimistically this provides you with some perception to what's occurring. First canines don't have seizures by way of fact they're scared besides the incontrovertible fact that, canines with seizure sickness have a tendency to have seizures in situations the place they're traumatic/under pressure. now and back seizures happen as quickly as in a canines existence and by no skill back and now and back they require anti-seizure medicine. maximum vets additionally provide pre-meds to their surgical operation sufferers. perchance your canines had a reaction to between the medicine. Ask your vet what became used and if this could be achievable. you may desire to get a 2nd opinion yet I doubt that yet another vet will discover something. shop a particular eye on your canines, this could be the 1st of greater back if she is unquestionably an epileptic.

Spay her. I bet there is more damage done when she is in heat then would be done is she was spayed. You should listen to the vet, they would know best. Plus, unless you pla on breeding her, I think it would be safer to have her spayed. They do hundreds of these operations every day, so they're safe. Do what the vet says, or she may have more trouble in the future. Good luck with your kitty.

She won't go into heat if she is spayed. The question is do you think she suffers when she has the seizures, and if the procedure stops her from suffering why do you hesitate.

hello i have a dog that has seizures she just turned 5 and has not been "FIXED" spayed. her seizures where a life long problem. they finally stoped when i started the BARF diet it is biologically appropriate raw food. i would suggest looking into that. the reason the raw food helped was the Turine in the meat and bones. i also feed this to my two cats.

If she only has them in heat then get her fixed.
I'm surprised that it's the only time it happens. Usually if a cat or dog has seizures, there is medication or you just let them come out of it normally.

As a responsible cat owner you should have her spayed anyway. There are too many unwanted uncared for kittens out there already.

You should really get her spayed. It's not going to hurt her and will only help her. Unless you are breeding animals, you should spay or neuter them.

Having her spayed will stop the hormonal changes that are suspected of causing her seizures.
Why are you wondering what to do, isn't the answer clear?
