ok.
so my dad just got this new cat door for my cats to go out of so we can put the litter box in the garage so it wont stink up the laundry room. well apparently, my cats are to retarded to figure out how to go through. we open it for them and they go through, but if they want out, they just stand there stupidly waiting for someone to let them out. any suggestions?

My 6 month old kitten, has developed a swollen bottom lip. He's eating normally, going to the bathroom normally and playing normally. Just don't know what to do about it. My vet said to keep an eye on it for a few days, it's been 5 days, and it hasn't gotten any better or worse. I've been giving him antibiotics from the vet from his neutering/declawing surgery that he had about 3 weeks ago. (He developed an infection in his paws, but that has gone away.) I've also tried, based on my vets advice putting neosporin on it, but he just licks it off. Does anyone have any other ideas?

She spent about 90% of her time in the family room before he left--I just figured it was her favorite place. But now, she'll go anywhere in the house. She'll even come into my room at night and curl against me and go to sleep.

I don't know if this matters, but she never approached my ex or cuddled against him. So I don't think she misses him.

My cat has developed a bald patch on the back of one of his legs. There are also some fairly hard, raised ball-like sections on it. He licks and bites it fairly often, and doesn't like me going near it.

The vet gave me some anti-allergy stuff to put on it. It seemed to get a little better, but now that it ran out it is getting worse again.

Anyone know what this might be?

My parents have brought my cat of 18 years for Christmas. We suspect that he may have arthritis. Is it safe to give him baby aspirin or ibuprofen to relieve any pain?

My kitten Smokey cut his ear. There is fur missing and there is dry blood. Should I put like neosporin or rubbing alcohol on it to disinfect it? I kinda don't want to do that because I'm afraid he will scream or whimper. But I know it's the right thing to do to get my baby cut all better....what should I do? Someone please help me and my Smokeykins.....again!!! <33333

There are stray cats that roam around in my backyard, and also some opossoms. Usually, when two cats fight, you hear both of them screaming. Every now and then, I only hear one, and I think they are being a attacked by the opossums. The opossums are about the same height of the cats, or a little bigger, and I don't bother to see them up close, because they are scary. Do they fight with cats, and if so, is it dangerous? Can they kill a cat? My cat goes out side at times, I haven't heard him out there screaming, and he has no scars, but I'm scared for him. I don't let him outside, my sister does, which annoys me.

She will just get this crazed look to her and her ears will be back and she looks like she is staring off into space, then she attacks and really hard too.

She won't stop if I have any flesh showing, I have to go jump under a blanket and even then she will sit there with that crazed look just waiting to see some flesh.

I left my cat for a week while i went on holidays to be fed by neighbours. Seeing as my cat is a male, he got into a few fights. He is limping because one of his paws is a bloody swollen mess and he has cuts on his ears and a nasty wound on his neck. I am taking him to the vet, but
what would you say is the best way to treat these sorts of injuries?
Is there a way to relieve him of the pain?

Hi everyone, i'm a sufferer of being allergic to cats and i have a question. Whenever i get mad at people for bringing their cats into my house i almost get the same reply every time. The people say that i'll be fine because the cat is only going to be in my house for a few min. But i still have minor allergic reactions. So how fast does cat dander really travel through the air in a house. Thanks for the answers!!!!!

i have 2 cats and they are very spoiled. ever since they were kittens at around 4 in the morning they beg to go outside. there isn't a single night were i sleep straight through. is there any way to change their sleeping/playing patterns?

they have a litter box inside and if i shut them out of my room they scratch at the door, if i let them in my room they knock things over and fight on the bed. its too cold to leave them out all night. they're just little bastards.

He has plenty of toys to play with, but he loves to go to his litter box and play all around the apartment.

I have a 10 month old cat, who until a month ago i thought was a female cat, because the vet said she was female and by looking myself i assumed it to. As i said above i have now discovered it is a male by seeing its male genitals, im so confused by this.

I mean really, Kitty purrs and gives kisses and drools when I get home, but sometimes she gives me that look, and if you have a cat you know what look I am talking about, that "I hate you and wish you were dead look".

So is she happy or not? How do you tell?
