She's asking for you to give her some attention, make sure her immediate needs are met, food and water, maybe she needs to go out for potty, etc. If you've done all that and she's still after you, give her some attention. Play with her so she's ready for a nap. My kitty and my parrot are both jealous of each other and me. My kitty will sit on my lap with me using one hand to rub his ears, then will get down and go nap. Does your kitty have a bed or basket near you? Maybe you could train kitty to take a nap and still be near you.. Your kitty is definitely asking for your attention. Maybe a new toy would help kitty when you absolutely can't leave the pc and give her some attention. Most kittys just need some loving time and then will get bored and leave you alone. My parrot likes to sit on my shoulder or back of my chair and watch me while I'm typing on the pc. Right now she's in her smaller cage on a table near me.. If your attentions are torn between both kitty and pc, choose the kitty first as the pc doesn't know the difference...good luck to you and kitty..

Animals are much smarter than we give them credit for. Your cat knows what she is doing and she knows it works. Next time you want to do something for yourself try playing with her before and after you finish so she knows she has not been forgotten. At the same time do not drop what you are doing to please her, she knows she can get you to cater to her wants. You have to let her know that you rule the house. You play with her when you say so, you love on her on your time, but don't ignore her. A relationship with an animal is like any other it takes patience, understanding and giving and taking to make it work. She only wants to know she is loved, make sure that happens on your terms. Do not use force instead when an unwanted behavior presents itself immediately take away all attention being giving to her even if it is a simple "no". Ignore and walk away, she will get the message.

Have you tried offering her your lap while you're on the computer?
I had several cats at one time or another that when I was on the computer, they saw it as "their" attention time. Which I didn't mind at all. Infact I enjoyed it. One of my cats enjoyed my lap or shoulder while I was online. While another enjoyed laying on a cleared out spot on the desk when it was her turn.
You can easily invite your cat to join you by offering your lap and clearing off a spot on your desk. If need be, you can put her up there to show her she's very welcome. This may be her way of trying to tell you she wants to be near you.

Cats often do this for attention. Check the obvious things, like need of food or if they need to go outside/clean litter box. My cats do this also, they are naturally egotistical, and selfish, if you give too much attention to something else for too long a time they can get anxious and jealous.

I almost had the same problem, just not anything to do with the computer. I moved, and my cat has been calm ever since. So, I think their just weird that way.

She wants some attention from you. Pet her, play with her for awhile.
My cat Tika actually likes to watch me when I'm on my computer.
She's fascinated by whatever is on the monitor screen, and when I play cat sounds just for her. She thinks it's another cat meowing to her!

Give her attention. Let her cuddle in your lap. Get her another kitty to play with. But first, I would take her to see another cat and see how she reacts. Do any of your friends have cats?
