She spent about 90% of her time in the family room before he left--I just figured it was her favorite place. But now, she'll go anywhere in the house. She'll even come into my room at night and curl against me and go to sleep.

I don't know if this matters, but she never approached my ex or cuddled against him. So I don't think she misses him.

Sounds like she is really comfortable with him gone. If you were quarreling she was probably disturbed by that and now she is happy with just the two of you there and feeling relief from the emotional stress.

Cats are like people at times. I know my cat senses when things have changed.... they're smart animals.
She would have noticed that all of a sudden ur ex is gone and maybe is now nervous that you might be leaving too??
Just pay her lots of attention and give her lots of cuddles to make sure she knows you're there to stay.

Your cat and your ex may not have gotten along...cats can sense when people don't like them.My cat will hide when one of my friends come over, because he doesn't like cats...and she wont come out until he is gone. She now has your to herself, and she may become more affectionate towards you now that your ex is gone...

It would seem she is more comfortable in her house with your ex not there. When my husband has to go out of town, she sits in his chair and cries. I think she's happy with it just being "the girls."
