my family just got a kitten, and i know that when you want to switch brands of cat food, you need to gradually switch them. but i was wondering if you have to do that for the flavors of the same brand also? or does it not matter?

thanks:]

My friend will be coming over daily to hang out w/ her, feed her, etc. but I am afraid she (my cat) will get stressed out and anxious (she is very attached). Is there anything I can do for her?

I have three cats a female and her 2 seven month old kittens, she was a good mum to them but now she only has time for the female one. She will lick and play with her but when the boy kitten comes along the mum growls at him and now the female kitten is doing the same. He is distancing himelf from them and tries occasionally to get close to them but they just growl so he is spending more time away from them which is making him unhappy ! I want them all to get along together but not sure how to - any help welcome !

I just received this new addition about three weeks ago and when she goes to her potty box she doesn't cover it AND her poo really stinks! Is this due to a different dry kitten food or should I try something different? She also passes ALOT of gas!?! You can smell her poo from a good distance! Any suggestions WITHOUT alot of costs??? Husband threating to send her back!(LOL)

My doc just informed me that I have a pretty bad allergy to cats and since getting rid of her is not an option right now, he recommended wshing her weekly to help reduce the dander. Any recs on what products to use? Any methods of cat washing that has worked for others? Thanks.

I have a 8 month old male who isn't fixed. I know and understand the differences of a male not being fixed. I believe he could have been feral before we recieved him. We received him when he was about 4 weeks old. We hand raised him, bottled fed him, you named it...we did it. He WILL NOT let anyone other than me and my husband to touch him, even the though the other two older cats reassure him that it's okay. My two step-daughters come over every other weekend and stay with us for 3 days, and they still are not allowed to touch him. Other friends and family come over, he reacts the same to them also. He hasn't actaully hurt anyone but he sure does put on a show. Was my kitten possibly feral or is he just protecting our pack???

I think my cat may be allergic to cat treats cause I'm noticing that when she eats them she gets sick and when she doesn't eat them shes fine. Is it possibe that she can be allergic to them? Like is it the tollerance for them or what is it. Like I stop giving them to her but i want to know what is it about the treats that this is happening? Cause the same thing happened to my friends cat too. We give them the same treats and havent really changes the brand at all. Is that it? Any personal Experiences or any ideas?

well when we give him medicines, im in charge of holding him and holding his legs in a manner that he wont be able to scratch the one whos giving him the medicine..well the only way would be forcing the tube on his lips till he opens it, and we squirt the medicine when he opens his mouth.the same goes with tablets, we use a tweezer.so im just wondering if there's actually a more easy way of doing it coz every session takes an hour coz my cat wont cooperate,he keeps his mouth tightly shut and just wont open it.

Ok. I've always been against declawing a cat. I have two kitties and my male cat has effectively destroyed our three curtains in the living room and our shower curtain. Lately he's been clawing on the carpet and sofa. They have a huge four level cat tree house which our little girl cat uses. At what point is enough enough? To declaw is cruel but so would be giving him up to the pound as it's hard to give away a destructive cat. Hmm What'cha think

my mom has this thing about making my cat unhappy. he's an extrodinarily fussy thing, even Royal Canin Exigent doesnt work for him. I believe feeding a fussy cat tinned food will rot his teeth and cause him to have obesity problems and heart problems. It also sends a message out to the cat that he will get whatever he pleases, this might cause problems for us in later life.

Could anyone confirm these suspicions? If enough people can then I can show my mom this and maybe get her to listen. She thinks if he doesnt get what he wants it will make him unhappy.

My cat has been licking her back legs like crazy lately and her fur is noticably thinner and shorter around her back legs now. She doesn't have fleas. Coud this just be dry skin and if so do you think adding a little vegetable oil to her food will help. She terrified of the vet and I hate to put her through a visit if I don't have to. Thanks!
