the washing machine door? It drives me mental

He is spayed, an absolute darling at home, but has found that one other cat which he simply CANNOT let live. He comes back with tufts of hairs between his claws, scratches which are easy enough to tend to...
But this morning, he came in with a vicious bleed from his temple -hard to tell whether it is a scratch or a bite. He let me nurse him and is now happily resting on his cushion. He is a tough, athletic 8 year-old and I am not overly concerned about this wound as he lets me tend to it with no fuss.

But I do work part-time and I fear that something worse may happen on a day when I am not home to nurse him. I hate the idea of keeping him shut in (lock the catflap) when I go to work but it may have to come to that.

Any other ideas, please?

My kitten is 6 months old and vomits what looks like undigested food on average once every two weeks. She is fed Whiskas pouches and eats no more than 2 pouches a day, so is not over eating. I have tried her on on a different brand a while ago but she didn't like it. I had her spayed just before christmas and whilst at the vets I mentioned it to the vet. She said my cat was the correct weight for her age and to put her on the adult food as the kitten food may be too rich for her. I did this but she has since vomited.
She has been wormed and is a house cat, so is not eating stuff from outside. Is this normal?

My sister recently bought a Devon Rex kitten ("Gizmo") from a local breeder. The kitten was infected with cat flu and was grossly underweight. At 10-11 weeks old, he only weighed around 300g. After a few weeks, he is now looking a million times better.

I am a vet nurse with practically no experience of this breed, having seen only 1 adult. My question is this - the kitten has hair on his extremities but none on his head or body. Is this common in the breed?

Please, only people with experience answer. Another breeder told my sister he will probably grow a lovely coat later on but at the moment he looks like an alien but a very cute one! LOL

He will be loved regardless but I just wonder if this is a common occurrence in Devon Rex kittens.

My cat that is about 6 months old will sometimes throw up after eating. I have a younger cat that is about 12 weeks old and I only feed them twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. They both do this kind of begging for food ritual in between feedings. I try not to give in for fear of overfeeding them. I noticed when they are eating that my older cat will stop and he looks like he's full, but then he'll look at the bowl, see more food in it, and it's like he has to eat it because it's there. If anyone can give me pointers I'd gladly appreciate it! Thank you in advance.

I have a kitten that is about 14 weeks old. He eats normally but will not eat any treats we've tried to give him. We've got another cat that is about 6 months old and he has no problems eating food or treats. Is there something wrong with the younger cat not eating the treats or do some cats just not like them?

I have a four year old cat I adopted from a shelter. He's great, but when there are other cats around (I had a roommate with two cats for a year) he was very rough with them. I'd love to adopt another cat, but would I be putting it at risk of his overly aggressive play fighting?

My kitty, Gemini, lived until he was 19 years old! Letting him go was the hardest thing I've ever done. When he got sick my Mom and sister were out of town at the time, so I had to cuddle and spoil him all weekend until they returned.

I have a cat and my husband & I love her very much. I can see that she loves us very much as well. We do lots of things together...for example, sleeping.

She comes up to me and using my arm as her pillow while I pet her. Then she bits my chin.

Well...she doesn't bite me that hard...but it still hurts and shocks me especially when she does that to me while I'm asleep. She also sniffs my left eye...only my left eye and pats my left eye with her paw, claws out while I'm asleep. It doesn't bother me that much if I'm awake...but when she wakes me up like this, I get little annoyed.

Now I know she does patting because kittens do that to get milk out from mother's breasts...I think? I'm not sure anymore.

So why does she bites my chin, pats my left eye and sniffs it?

Oh and thanks in advance!

I recently brought home two kittens that i saved from my friends mother who was going to have them put to sleep. I have two older cats also.

There is a male kitten and a female kitten. Both of the others LOVE the male kitten but the female gets them all riled up.

So one of my older cats particularly hates the female kitten. About a week ago they had a brutal fight (with blood) and i stopped them before they caused serious damage. Now they fight a lot and the older cat has started peeing in the house. I think she is trying to mark her territory but im not sure.

its really gross. does anyone know how i can get them to stop fighting?

I looked on line but did not find any pictures like what they look like. They are about 1/4 inch locg, and look like a grain of rice, the only reason I noticed, his stool was really soft so being the mom I looked at it. Good thing! What do I do, the vetcis closed till Tuesday unless it's an emergency.
serious answers only, all others will be reported!

If I have a glass of water, my cat fights me beacuse she wants it. If I leave the toilet lid down, she sits there until I open it so she can get a drink. I fill her water bowl everyday with fresh water but she WILL NOT drink from it. Why does she do this and how can I get her to stop? Its driving me crazy. I almost have to get cups with lids so she will leave mine alone! lol I love her but shes a nut!

My 6 year old orange cat has black spots on his gums and nose and the inside of his eyelids. He has had them but they are getting worst, it seems like he has more now. My other young orange cat, which is about 2 years old, also has them in his mouth and on his nose, but my black and white cat doesn't have them anywhere. I was wondering maybe this is just in orange cats or what?? Not really sure... anyone with answers?

My house came with two cats living under it in a caged area. It's a mother and son I assume. I feel bad for them so I let them out during the day. They come back to eat all the time. I think the mother is now pregnant. It's winter (doesn't go below 45 degrees F) so I put a box and a towel under the house. Should I put another box for the birth? Should I keep the son away after the birth? I live in a very remote area. There are no vets around, there is no commercial cat food available (I feed them boiled rice and fish for the most part). Anything else I should know? I rely mostly on the Internet for info. Mama seems healthy although she is very human unfriendly. Sonny is somewhat human friendly and allows me to rub his head and tummy. Advance thanks and .... meow!

Have you seen any kittens in or around Sacramento??? I know its not exaclty "kitten season" as some would say, but my friend and I are both looking to get a kitten. We have tried local pet shops for ads but have seen nothing. The few ads in the paper that I called had already handed out their kitties. We're having such trouble finding kittens! I'm looking for one around 8 weeks old, and I'd prefer not to go to the shelter because they want over $100! You think it would be lower since they seem to be in such a hurry to find homes...And yes I know that that goes towards the vet fees, but c'mon!
I know a vet here where I live and she only charges around $10 for spay/neuter and only a few extra bucks for vaccinations, of which I do beleive in.
So...If you have seen any kittens, or if you know anyone who has any, or if maybe you know of a pet store that has some...

PLEASE please let us know! We appreciate all of your help and suggestions.

...We have been searching Craigs....

She tends to lick fingers, nose, cheek or neck, before biting. It's not a nip either, it's a bite!
