Close the washing machine door.
Otherwise you can get the spray from a pet-shop that cats hate and spray it in the area you don't want him to go near. I forget whta the thing is called.

why don't you keep the washing machine door shut? and if that doesn't work put a baby guard on the door of the room its in?

Cats hate the small of oranges so you could spray it with something that smells that way for a bit and it should give up. I had a cat that used to try to catch the snooker balls when I was watching Pot black.

Hi,
Easy, send the thing to a cat sanctuary.
Get a lizard. My freind, Marlon the Gekko, does not crap everywhere, scratch the household items, and demand a cuddle.
The thing does sometimes crawl across me in bed to wake me up though !
Abandon the cat, poor thing, and employ a more sensible critter.

spray some horrible smelling aftershave or fragrance on it when the cat gets near it will smell it and run away.
