My kitty, Gemini, lived until he was 19 years old! Letting him go was the hardest thing I've ever done. When he got sick my Mom and sister were out of town at the time, so I had to cuddle and spoil him all weekend until they returned.

Thank you...all of you...for your encouragement and for sharing your stories. It sure is nice to know that others understand the love for kitties and the depth of the pain after they leave us.

My recent lose was my 26 year old female calico. She died 2 days before Christmas. She was a rescue at approximate age of 1 1/2 years. She moved about 14 times with me and my dog. We went through floods and motor boats. She lived in my car with me and my dog for 2 weeks. She morned when we lost the dog. I felt bad when I lost her and the dog. But 12-26 I had a small cat come to my yard and need attention. So I took it in a bathed it and have a appointment at the vets on Tuesday for a spay and shots. I will keep her unless my ad in the paper finds her owner.

Isn't it a good thing that you had so much time to be with him? Little furry kids are awesome!
Right now we have Eesha. She is 13 or 14 and she is showing no signs of getting old at all. She runs around like a kitten...flinging herself into the air and jumping at the wind and just basically having a good time with life. We all love her dearly.
There is a site called
in-memory-of-pets
please go there and make a tribute to Gemini and/or any other furry/feathered kid that you have had go to the other side. it is an awesome site and all free.
It really will make you feel better..
Please, take good care .

I had a simese cat for 23 years, he was an inside cat. I had him since i was six years old, i was an only child so my parents got him for me cause cats tend to be a little easier. I had moved away from home and left him at the house we grew up in and my dad had called me to tell me he had passed away. I cried for a week and it still makes sad to think of it. I never thought that it would be that hard to lose a animal. I called my friends that i grew up with and they were pretty synpathetic they felt bad too. I have not had the heart to get another animal since.

Happy is a female calico that I rescued from the streets during the winter when it was snowing out. She has been with me for over 23 years and doing great. Besides losing her teeth she is in excellent health. My husband's cat is 17 and a calico too.
The reason these two cats have lived so long is because they have been kept indoors and safe. Besides all the TLC they get from us.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry bout ur' cat.
I had to put my 20 year old cat, Precious, to sleep this summer right around my birthday, she was sooo weak. I was just glad that she got to live as long as she did. My mom got two cats after her and they both died before she did.
