I bought a broom at Target that has rubbery bristles. It works great on the carpets - just lightly sweep and it picks up tons of fur.

I highly recommend the Hoover Wind Tunnel Bagless vaccuum if you have a problem with pet hair. My mom has one and has 2 dogs and 3 cats ... one dog is a border collie and has some awesome length to his hair. If you can handle the bagless concept (gotta clean it directly into the trash can outside), this will work wonders. I borrowed the vaccuum to do my house AFTER I used the traditional vaccuum cleaner. In my living room alone, I got an additional 7 dead cats worth of hair. My brother has now given me the same vaccuum for Christmas and I am waiting for it to arrive from amazon ... and I can't wait! Hair will be gone soon!

What sort of breed is it? If it's something with long fur you will need to groom it daily... like a persian or a rag doll.
That's prob the best way to stop it shedding that much you need a strong vacuum.

Invest in a Dyson Animal Vacuum, they are pricy, but very well worth it and won't clog up. I have seven house cats and mine has NEVER clogged up. You can also get those sticky lint rollers, they work well on surface fur.

there are a number of video clips on You Tube that coach a thank you to groom an animal with raveled hair. My vet cautioned combing from the sting of the mat and dealing in direction of the floor. i think of all of it depended on how agreeable your cat is to being groomed. If the cat won't stay nonetheless long adequate for you, shaving ought to be staggering. you in basic terms decrease mats once you're no longer close to to the floor.i does no longer bathe a raveled cat; that could in basic terms make the tangles worse. good success!

I have 5 cats and one dog. The best way to get cat hair off furniture and your clothes is to use the lint roller. They are inexpensive and you can buy refills at walmart or target. It just takes it right off. Its as easy as that! Hope this helps because it sure has helped us! =)
