My girlfriend and I recently broke up and we were living together, with the cats. I got a new place and got the cats in the "divorce". Att any rate, she's gone and the cats who used to spend more time with her than me, are adjusting to the new situation and apartment. Here's the problem. It's been 2 months and I can't, for the life of me, get the the little guy to **** in the litterbox. He'll pee in it, daintly step over it and jump out. Won't bury it. Ever. But he only shits everywhere but the litterbox. It's incredible. The carpet, right next to the litterbox, or in the same room, but across it. Sometimes in the kitchen or the bathroom. Never in my bedroom or the living room, tho. I guess that's his kingdom. The other cat? No problems. Before you answer, let me save you time by telling you I've tried everthing you could think of off the top of your head. Think about it. Everyday, multiple times while I'm at work, for two months. I've had time at this. Please helf me from going insane

My cats have earmites. I don't know how they got them because they have never been outside. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I transferred the mites to them after playing with a friends dog. I've been treating them for about a week and now MY ears are driving me nuts!
Is this my imagination or could I have caught them too?

I put the anti-flea treatment on him 2 weeks ago when he had a little scratch near his neck... Now he's got a bigger patch of hair missing with a scab in about the same area. It doesn't look like it's from a fight (although he is an outdoor cat). Am I over reacting or does anyone else know of Advantage causing similar reactions in their cats?

Im in the US for another 9 or 10 months. Originally I live in Melbourne, Australia. I was talking to my mum last night and she mentioned that my cat had stayed in my bed all day and wouldnt come out. She tried calling him out when it was time to feed him but he wouldnt budge. Just stayed in there! She pulled the covers back to take a look at him and he just looked up at her and rested his head back down to sleep. She is worried that he may be feeling depressed because ive been away from him for so long now. And after hearing that its starting to worry me now too. It is winter at the moment at home so she isnt too sure if thats the reason why he decided to stay in there. As a kitten he used to like crawling into bed where he had my scent for security and the comforter for warmth. Is he feeling depressed or was he just having a lazy day and wanted to stay some where that he felt closer to me. Im a little worried..

Last time I saw my cat was in a midnight about a week ago. She was kind of fishy lying on my bed. When I picked her up, I felt she was soft as cotton. Posioned was the first thing came up to my mind. I ran to my garden to cut some cactus and squeezed some juice out of it and try to feed her (I heard that could help). But when I went back to my room, she was gone. Then I thought she was might just relaxing and sleeping ealier. As the days past by (she’s never been out side more than a day), I felt she might be died. I heard that cats don’t die at home. When they know it’s time, they will always get away from home. Is that true? Why? I’d really like to understand them.

With the statistics dismal on the fate of abandoned cats, I'd like to see people promote their favorite no-kill shelters who rescue and love cats from all walks of life. All of my cats were rescued, and two have been with me since before their eyes opened because I was their foster mom from the Treehouse Animal Shelter in Chicago.

So what are your favorite shelters and how do we get people more involved in this wonderful volunteer opportunity?

My cat is a Bengal (the domesticated cat, not the tiger). She loves water, and I have heard stories from other owners of Bengals about the water spray not working at all. In fact, one owner said that now her Bengals won't drink from anything but the spray bottle!

What can I use instead of water in the spray bottle?

My cat escaped two days ago from my house. She spent the night outside. In the morning, she was at the door, waiting for her breakfast!. I looked at her face and she has black dots just over and under her eyelids. There were dozens of black dots just above and below her eyes. I could pull them out but it was hard. She still has more because I dont want to hurt her eyes. I think they might be little bugs but they dont seen to be moving. Im worried because I dont know what they are and will it hurt her? should I pull them out? Do you have any idea of what they are? and has anyone had the same expiriance?

I vacuum everyday and throw the bag out immediately, done the laundry and bedding, fogged out the house and even had a pest control guy come spray inside and out. I got rid of all of my pets. But now I am left w/ all these fleas. I even put down pans w/ water and dish soap at night under lights to help catch them. Im at my wits end and have a baby due in oct. Im worried that i wont be able to let him crawl around on the floor because all of these fleas will still be here! Im fed up w/ being bitten and am out of ideas. Please help me.

AMONIA WAS SUGGESTED, BUT WONT THAT DAMAGE STUFF. I WISH I COULD SPRAY NAIL POLISH REMOVER AS MY CATS JUST HATE THE SMELL OF THAT. AND THEY DONT LIKE IT WHEN THEY SMELL AN OPEN CARBONATED BEVERAGE
I GUESS THEY DONT LIKE THE BUBBLES. LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TO THOSE OFFENDING STAY OFF SPRAYS THAT WORK ON ME AND NOT THE CATS. ANY REALLY GOOD SUGGESTIONS THAT ACTUALLY WORK.
