you have to bring them to the vet and get medication for it,if they are coming out the anus the cats are pretty infested and could lead to many health problems or even death,so call your vet,you should put the worms in a bag for the vet to see and bring stool samples,on the visit.good luck :):):)

I am guessing that they are roundworms and not tapeworms. Tapeworms are not that common. In the early stage of development, roundworms do appear in the anal area as rice shaped; when they are adults, the worms live in the stomach/intestinal tract and will look like spaghetti. I give my cats de-worming medicine about every 3 months, as a preventive measure. My vet charges $10 for the 2 cats ($5 for each cat for 2 doses...2 doses 3 weeks apart). Every vet I've spoken to says that over-the-counter medicines are not nearly as effective as what you can get at the vet. See if your vet will give you the medicine without paying for the office visit. Here is a link where you can find out more about worms.

Are you sure they are roundworms and not tapeworms? Tapeworms look like grains of rice and usually crawl around rectum. Roundworms are long spaghetti like worms and you usually do not see them crawling on the animal. At any rate you will need a dewormer from your VET, do NOT get any over the counter dewormer because you will just be wasting your money. You won't have to give them up. Most kittens and puppies have intestinal parasites

Usually that describes the little rice-like segments of tapeworms.
If that is the case, treat for fleas and get a tapewormer from the vet.
Roundworms look like spaghetti and usually they throw them up.

You are dealing with tapeworms!!! Treat for fleas and then the tapeworms!!!!!!

My vet recommended the pig wormer they sell at Farm and Fleet. As for home remedy, I have not heard of a safe one. Good luck!
