Actually I think it should be. If the cat is loved by the entire family, then (1) each person should take turns, or (2) I suppose everybody could help at the same time, though too many hands would get in the way. It's not as unpleasant as people make it out to be. It's no different than cleaning your toilet bowl. I'd rather clean out a litter box than mess around with a toilet. If you're in the country, you can dump the box out in the woods and then use the garden hose and soap to wash it. If you use a hose, then you don't have to handle it as much. Or, just dump the box into a plastic bag, use a toilet brush and soap to clean and rinse it out, and the job is done. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes. After it's over and the family is all together, wash your hands and enjoy a BBQ.

Hell no! My dog is litter trained and my sons (ages 16 and 14) get the chore. Each month, one gets to take out the trash for the month and the other gets to scoop poop. The next month, they switch. They get paid well!

its not. its a horrible activity that can be pure toture. the dust from the litter flies right into your face and if you dont buy quality, clumping litter well you're just in trouble. i recommend it as a punishment instead of a fun activity.

No, but it is better than your house smelling like poop. Do what I did, train your kitty to make poopy outside.
