I used tidy cats crystals. It was great in keeping odors away because it absorbs urine completely. However it is very expensive and it may take a while for the cat to get used to the consistency. I then tried feline pine and I am very satisfied, no smell, lasts long, no allergies, no dust, all natural and also flushable.

the best is the one your cat(s) will use

try starting with the cheapest you can find and working up in price untl they use it

generally cats don't like the perfumed stuff and prefer something that doesn't hurt their feet and has the right consistency for scratching but its a very individual thing

the one you cat will use. that keeps the odor down. A covered litter pan will help alot. I like flushable ones (my box is in the bathroom) no muss, no fuss.
