Some flea seasons are worse than others. What has worked for me when I got to the point that you are at is that I purchased flea powder and used it on the carpet about an hour before vacuuming. I then vacuumed once a day doing this. When I stopped noticing fleas, I stopped purchasing the flea powder but continued using it until it was all gone.
I have had as many as 10 house cats at one time. I only did this type of treatment on my house, once. Whenever I see fleas on my cats now I use advantage. I only use advantage about 4X's a year. The main thing is to keep up with the fleas so they do not take over.
I am so sorry you had to get rid of your pets.

you need to do a flea bomb. vacuuming doesnt help.
eFleas.net
http://www.e-fleas.net/
"Fleas can jump over 6 feet, and they enter the house by any carrier
available: pets and humans. White clothing, socks, and sneakers excite
and invite them right into the living room where they remain unseen
and happily reproducing without your ever knowing until the problem is
advanced."

Now, how to evict these clearly unwanted tenants? The procedures
aren't much different for a non-pet owner than they are for a pet
owner. In fact, it's a little easier because you don't have to chase
down a reluctant housepet and treat it with a foul smelling chemical.
The first thing you need to do is vacuum *everything* in your home -
carpets, drapes, upholstery - *everything*. Ortho, a manufacturer of
pest control products recommends the following procedure:
* Thoroughly vacuum all carpeting, upholstered furniture and floors.
* Dispose of the vacuum bag immediately and seal it in a plastic bag
to ensure no fleas escape.
* Repeat this procedure on a regular basis throughout the year to
prevent flea populations from growing.

Next, wash all of your bedding in the hottest water possible. This
will kill off any fleas hiding there, as well as any eggs that may
have been laid. Vacuum your mattress well while the bedding is in the
laundry, just in case.
Finally, you can purchase a "flea bomb" at your local grocer. These
are sometimes referred to as "indoor foggers", and are relatively
inexpensive. Since you have no pets of your own, a single "fogging"
should be more than sufficient to ensure that you've gotten rid of all
of them. Be certain to follow all package directions exactly, though
- most flea bombs require that the home be thoroughly aired out after
treatment, and you'll need to wash any residue off of surfaces such as
countertops and cupboards, and vacuum thoroughly once more.

If you have had a major infestation of fleas you will need more than one treatment.
Now that you have rid yourself of all pets you will need to use an insect growth regulator(IGR) to stop the larvae from hatching. Vacuuming everyday is a great step in the right direction. The website below will give you some great tips on how to get rid of those pesky fleas. Be patient and persistent, fleas can stay dormant up to 18 months.
Good luck!

Arm and Hammer puts out a powder that's great for killing fleas and eggs. Sprinkle it on everything, let it sit for a while, then vacuum. Don't forget to vacuum the furniture.
And then don't throw the bag away immediately: Vacuum again using the bag that has the flea-killer powder in it.
If you can't get that powder for whatever reason, I've found powderred laundry detergent works well too.
And yes, get someone to treat under your house: A lot of bugs like to hide there.
Good luck and congratulations on the baby!

i don't think that vacuuming will help because fleas tend to get deep inside the carpet. i think that you should consider getting wooden floors because that way the fleas won't be able to hide. There are also some products that are supposed to help with that. I've seen some of those products in target at the pet aisle, i don't know if they'll work but it's worth a shot.

Sounds like u need to use the flea bomb. Try looking up exterminators specifically for fleas in the Yellow Book. There has to be someone in there to take care of ur matter. I would also call back the exterimator u had come out and tell him that u still have the little rats in ur house. He may be able to do a flea bomb for u

I'm sorry, but there is no way you could have done all of these things and still have fleas! Fleas are not that hard to kill. I can't imagine how bad the house must have been before you started trying to get rid of them!!!!!!!!! I live on two acres, my dogs have 1/2 acre fenced in for them to run on and I have 8 of them. I haven't seen a flea or tick in 3 years! You can't get rid of some fleas even without pets?????? Get outta here.

You MUST break the cycle inside and outside the home.
Raid Flea-Ender Plus is great, and safe enough for you to use, even on furniture, but still...treat the house and leave for several hours.
Repeat the process in 10 days.
And in another 10 days if you need to.
YOU MUST TREAT THE OUTDOORS, TOO!!!

check your paperwork from the pest control guy and see if there is any mention of a reduced fee for coming back to do the job again or any type of guarantee..or call the company and tell them the problem still exists...if all else fails you will have to get it done again,by a reputable company
