Cats - June 2006

My nine month old very healthy Ragdoll kitten has never meowed. She makes a "pihh!" sound, sometimes with a squeak at the end. These sounds are made at all the appropriate times when another cat would meow. It's an airy kind of sound, and kinda cute, but just as irritating as a meowing cat when she does it too much.

i have a similar question in the dog area, but i need more cat noses, i prefer your own cat, i want to personalize it and put a name to the nose, but ill take anything, cat or dog, or any other pet nose. thanks, this is already really funny you should check out some of the answers already for a good laugh. thanks so much

My cat gets allergy shots once a month and it gets costly, is there any other solution to help him out that doesn't cost so much? What the cat does is start biting and pulling his hair constantly. My cat has a major - gross - problem. When we feed him, he eats it so fast that he chokes on it or something, and then he barfs it all up - and the food is unchewed, so it's like he is just swallowing it whole. We have to give him a small coffee scoop full until he eats that all, and then give him another cup. When we give him a small amount, he does not throw up because he can not suck up huge amounts at a time! It's a real pain. Is there anything I can do?

What steps & precautions should I take. My 2 year old cat is very stuck up. She has been around a male cat once before but hissed when she was around him. She is an indoor cat and the only pet. Will she be calmer around a female kitten? What should I expect?

my cat was sat looking out of the window when the bus stopped and an old man got off. my cat hissed loudley and all his fur fluffed up and he jumped away from the window. he has never done this before, why would he do it??

all i have is my kitten and she cant do anything to protect me if someone breaks into my window and i dont have a screen and my landlord is the 1 who has the screen needed to replace. i cant get a dog cause my kitten will kill it j/k lol but she thinks she is the gaurd dog of my house. why do i have this paronora??

my cat dave was depressed, so i got him a little kitten. the new cat(blue) was 8 weeks old when we got him. they love each other, but blue nurses on dave and dave lets him. dave carries the kitten around, baths him and lets him nurse. i cant stop them. dave's nipples are swollen. the poor thing. it happens about twice a day. is this normal?? how can i help dave and rescue is nippleas?
