Yes, it's somewhat normal for a kitten that still needs some mothering and a male cat that cares enough to be accommodating. It will wear off in time -- at some point, the kitten will not need the mothering... or Dave might get tired of it before then.
When Dave's nipples are so sore that he doesn't want to be bothered by the kitten (in making them sorer), he will put a stop to the sucking. Until them, let it be. They'll be OK, I believe.

yes, oddly enough, it's normal. You would think Dave would have had enough of it by now, and put his paw down. About the only thing you could do is put something that would taste nasty to the kitten on Dave, making him not want to nurse. Just make sure it's something that won't hurt either of them, and I don't have a good suggestion off the top of my head. I thought of Tabasco sauce at first, but that might burn Dave if his skin is raw.

That's so funny and a bit odd. Seems like Blue is missing the nurturing his mom gave him, and Dave has supplied his need. The little one should grow out of it, but I'm afraid it will have to be Dave who puts a stop to it. Once Dave has had enough, he'll swat Blue off of him.

As far as I know, male cats cannot nurse other cats. I believe only female cats are able to produce milk. That being said, are you sure that Dave is a male?

there is nothing you can do. i'm sorry for his nipples but male cats from my experience are just more affectionate to kittens than females are. i had a male cat tigger who picked up our little male kitten, TC and carried him around and cleaned him. he didn't try to nurse though. how young is the kitten? they grew out of it though and began play fighting. but i think TC grew up confused....he tried to mount our golden retriever....full grown too. lol we got pictures it was soo funny.

This happenned with my male cats also. It's very strange, but it does happen. However our kitten (who is now 6 years old) tries to hump his "mommy" once in awhile :)
