I had just bought another parakeet for my son from a pet store. Unfortunately, his wings were clipped and he can't fly around like the other parakeet we have. He tries, but instead of flying up he flys down. I feel sorry for him. He wants to be like the other bird. I just wanted to know how long it will be like this. I want him to be able to explore my house as the other bird does.

I have recently - 2 days ago brought a parrot home. I am scared that she is not getting enough sleep. Do u think its wise to cover her cage with a cloth? wont she feel suffocated?

What are the standards on a Peacocks/Peahen's living space? I know of a Peacock and Peahen that are living uner a jungle gym caged in by chicken wire. I want to make sure that it's illegal to confine the birds in so small of a living space before I file my report. They are also being fed dog food.

There is a blackbird that always hangs around our garden, and he acts pretty strangely. If I'm ever out there and come across him, he stares at me for ages. He twitches his wings and his head, and if I get any closer he flies off. Is this normal behaviour?

I bought this great brass solar bird feeder and hung it on a hook designed for such. It hangs on one side of the yard close to a flower bush. Not one bird has stopped by for lunch. The food I bought is a variety. I can't even get a crow to stop. WHY?

I'm a old lady in MO and need help with new chinese goose I recieved from my granddaughter. I recently got a goose and it's very young. I took it a bath for the first time but the water kept running off so I rubbed as hard as I could because I figured it got in when of those oil spills....I used dawn of course. Well now all of it's feathers are all ruffled and are not smooth like they are supposed to be. If I pluck it wll it live? I think that may be the only way for it not to be so ruffled up. Any ideas would help please.

My budgie has lots of feathers coated with wax. What causes the feathers to be like this. Also why is there another feather under the wax. Does the wax protect the feather?

Can they learn to talk, or just mimic sounds? How many words can they learn? I heard somewhere that if you play soft, lyrical music for lovebirds they'll develop a soft voice, but if you play nothing, they'll get a wild screech. Is that true for budgies also? Are they smarter than other types of birds, or less smart? Would they enjoy things like watching tv or listening to music? (I'm just kind of guessing they would-it would stimulate their mind)

Is it practical to carry a budgie around the house on your shoulder? Would they be like your buddy and go everywhere with you or would they just fly off?

Plus, do they get sick easily (I heard they did), how long do they live, and how long does it take for their feathers to grow back if you clip their wings?

Thank you in advance!

Hello.

When I first purchased my budgie Pipi (last week), she was given to me in a rather large box to take home. When I arrived home to put Pipi in the cage,I realized I would have to take out some of the perches for her to enter the cage (since the box was so large). When she was able to get into the cage, there were 2 perches left.
I really want to be able to put the remaining perches back in,but I think Pipi will freak out if I stick a piece of wood into her cage. She is not hand tame,so I'm not yet comfortable taking her out of the cage. Should I wait til she is tame and take her out before I put the perches in? Any other suggestions?

the requirements were NOT to use an incubator, but to use our bodies to warm it, so we must wear the egg with us. Does anyone know a good way for a male to wear an egg without endangering it?

and also, i know the egg needs to be at about 100 F but what will happen if its only at about 90? will it still hatch? thanks.
