Hello!

I got chickens today, but they aren't technically chickens they are chicks. I have 9 of them; I attached the picture. They were only like 2 dollars each, so my dad bought 9. The reason i want irish names is because we got them on St. Patricks day! haha, and DO NOT put names like KFC, or chicken. We are not going to eat them, they are just for eggs.

heres the picture:http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/0oXxEmilyxXo0/chickens.jpg

Any names?

And what else can you do with chicks? Can you train them to do things? Like jump through hoops? etc.

On my balcony, on top of a tall shelf, I have a potted succulent. Today I found a bird's nest in there, with 2 eggs. The bird scared me to death (almost) and flew away. Now she's back sitting on her eggs.

Is there any way to "move" this family? Or do I have to wait until the eggs hatch and they will all go away eventually?

Serious answers only, please (and no animal cruelty jokes like 'eat the eggs').

This is a question from a 3rd grader working on a report about blue-and-gold Macaws. The student is looking to understand any details about how this type of bird sleeps. Thank you!

My yellow nape is 13 years old and very spoiled. I have had her since she was a baby. She is now exhibiting loud yelling when I am not in the room. I have hit the rope with a paper to try and stop her and she squawks again soon as I start to walk away. I can't leave the room without this happening. She also sits up on her rope and moves her wings as she does it. She has ample toys and is out all day on her perches and her rope and bells near the ceiling. We have a routine evry morning. I get her out of the cage and love her and talk to her, then we go to the kitchen where she watches me fix her piece of toast and her half an apple. Then I love her some more and put her on top of the cage for breakfast. This never varies. I sit near and read the paper and she is fine. Then when I go up stairs to dress or clean my bedroom she starts the squawking!! It is getting worse and I am frustrated with her. HELP!!!!

I've been thinking about breeding my African Grey, Dutchess.

*i have several more pictures if you'd like one*
She's over 20 years old but I don't think by much, but I'm not sure how she gets along with other birds. Not only that but theres a lot more I don't really know about her unfortunetly. When I got her she didn't come with much information other than that she was DNA sexed female. She has been to the vet though and is very healthy. She has a good personality but of course she has her stubborn moments but who doesn't. I love the idea of having a baby grey and watching it grow & i do know that it will be hard but i know I can do it. I have done research, don't get me wrong, but I'm still unsure how to start everything. I'd want everything to be done correctly. Please don't respond with rude comments, I'm not trying to offend anyone.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
thanks

At first, we thought she was a male canary, so we were really surprised to find the eggs, and since she's alone, we know they can't be fertile. (There is another canary near her in a separate cage. We arent sure of the gender of this one either.) She will generally peck holes in them anyway. We took the first ones out, because they were beginning to smell, but I'm worried if I take these out, she'll lay more. Should I put fake eggs in there, instead?

well my cockatiel laid 7 eggs, and well everything was fine until yesterday..they would take turns sitting on the eggs, and they would even sit on them together..but all of a sudden yesterday the male cockateil started being really aggresive towards the female.. he keeps on chasing her around the cage n biting her....and he wont let her get close to the nest....should i seperate him from her and put him on another cage?

I just acquired a parakeet, and need some information about how to transition her to a new cage. In reading some information about care on the internet, I found that she has the wrong cage (tall and thin) and only one perch. I read that she should have multiple perches, a swing, bath, etc. Will it stress her to be moved to a new cage? Any tips appreciated

My cockatiels have been great parents. They are both older than a year, have been very attentive to the eggs, but this morning I found both of them sitting on their favorite perch, preening eachother! I opened the nestbox (the parents are accustomed to me doing this and it has not bothered them) to see if the eggs were still whole and not smashed and they were fine. Daddy came in after that and he is brooding now. The eggs are two weeks old now and I am wondering if I should buy an incubator and pull them. This is their first clutch, as well as mine, so any suggestions or tips will be much appreciated! Thanks!

He used to sing all the time, but hasn't sung in nearly 3 months. He is in a well lighted area, and seems healthy and energetic. He eats well.
