Molting does not happen every month. It should happen twice a year.

I would have this bird seen by an avian vet, something is not right here.

It could also be a habitual stress reaction, depending on how many get picked out.

well, i'm no expert. but i'm guessing that it does that just to clean it's self. kind of like how us humans get our hair cut every month or two. just a nice clean up, so it doesn't surprise me to hear that birds would do so as well. :]
