Generally no! At least not like Geese - but it may be that a group of pigeons flying by formed a v. Most pigeons are solitary in flight - you will see lone individuals arriving and leaving a popular feeding sight for instance. There is a species of pigeon that fly together as a group - they fly in all together and leave all together and they are all snow white in color but their formation is loose and not structured in any way.

Why do ducks fly in a V? because of the fact it could be too demanding to fly in an S! in basic terms kidding. Scientists have desperate that the V-formed formation that ducks use whilst migrating serves 2 significant applications: First, it conserves their capability. each and every chicken flies somewhat above the chicken in front of him, ensuing in a alleviation of wind resistance. The birds take turns being in the front, falling back whilst they get drained. in this way, the ducks can fly for an prolonged time before they could supply up for relax. the 2d income to the V formation is that it extremely is undemanding to maintain music of each and every chicken in the gang. Fighter pilots frequently use this formation for the comparable reason.

pifieons do not fly in a v- formation, although many birdsdo, like geese and ducks. geese and ducks do this because it breaks the wind and they rotate who goes in front and the top one goes to the back to take a break while migrating. pigeons do not do this because they do not migrate if they live in the city, they are very clumsy and do not feel the need to do this. good luck with your friend!

No shes mad. She probbly mistaked it for a gull o a goose. Pigeons fly whereever they want unless they are in the group. They mostly fly in crooked circe shapes flying around to check if all of the flock will stick together and then leave heading for (migration sometimes)

No, pigeons generally fly in flocks.
Depending on the number of birds in the flock, this behavior provides excellent protection from birds of prey.

Geese, ducks, pelicans, cormorants fly in V-formation.
The short explanation: it saves energy during long migrations. You will see them V-up for short flights between ponds and feeding grounds, too.
