I love Chickens as pets- they are cute- especially Japanese Silkies! My girlfriend has one, and he is incredibly adorable.

But the only thing I don't really like is the excrement thing. Apparently, chickens just sh*t wherever they feel like it. But can you train a chicken to defecate, say, in a litter box, or something similar?

I had a cockatiel who was just about 1 year old.. She was very sweet and was hand fed when little so she was very friendly. Saturday night she was fine (flying aorund, chirping, etc.. her normal activity. I was home all day Sunday and she was fine in the morning. At about 8 pm i walked out and found her hunched over in the front of the cage. I knew something was wrong.. I picked her up and she was jusrt looking at me... She kept closing her eyes and I would pet her to keep her awake. I wrapped her in a blanket to keep her warm and pet her to keep her calm but she died in my hands... I have no idea why. She had food and water and was fine just a couple hours earlier.. I'm so sad b/c she was a wonderful pet and i already miss her.. does anybody know why she oculd have died? I have heard if they catch a draft maybe? I'm so sad and I blame myself b/c i didn't know what to do to save her..

my dog "tessa" is one year old and has been biting people whenever they come into my gate. it doesnt matter if shes met them before or if their strangers except that she is more aggressive to strangers then to friends. my parents had a friend come into the gate and reintroduced tess to him, telling her to be nice and when they turned to walk into the house thinking shed be ok with him, tess bit our friend in the groin and my parents cant afford to take her to corrective training classes. what can i do to make her stop biting so i dont have to get rid of her?

i was told by a local pet store that putting a mirror in my birds cage will allow my bird "zeak" to bond with the mirror and he will ignore me. this is my first budgie and im not around untill 3PM because of school so he gets lonely, but if this is true i dont want to give him a mirror and i cant afford another bird with how small his cage is and how little money i have. what else can i do to make him happy without having him ignore me?

I wouldn't mind someone having a nice feeder in the back garden attracting nice birds but my neighbour puts out scraps and rotten food and attracts seagulls and crows

My windows get pooped on, the cars get pooped on and I have a fear of birds. What can I do?

Last night my cat brought in a live sparrow that my cat brought in! It was alive so we kept it in dark box overnight. This morning it was still alive but we don't know if it will die later of shock when we let it go!
